Ed. I'm sure they're both female so maybe a 265 is big enough but not sure they'd get along. She's big ... and fat. Hard to show it in pictures but she's a plump big fish and she dwarfs everything else I have.
Sorry I should have said this - I'm in Moorestown - south Jersey. 08057
Thanks Dan. I was thinking of that tonight it was one of my favorites. I got through about half the rock in the stock tank tonight. Just scraping off dead Skelton but mostly trying to get vermitid snails off. I think I may have to kill a rock or two.
Here's a rough sketch of the layout
I think it may have to wait for the basement re-do and upgrade. Maybe then I'll factor it in to my design. Right now there's paneling so I'd have to take all of that off carefully and put it back up to run through the walls. At least if I do that they're not...
Has anyone tried plumbing 2 tanks together without relying on gravity to feed the return? Currently my tank is in the basement and my sump is gravity fed in the stand. I have a remote closet about 10-12' away that will hold water making, ATO reservoir and QT setup. I have room for a frag tank...
Any interest in a beautiful GSMC? She's a big girl. I know they are ok in smaller tanks but for the foreseeable future I'll be running a 90. She's been in a stock tank for about 4 months so I'm afraid she's gotten used to a larger spot and may struggle going back to the smaller 90. I'd sell her...
Steps toward completion are moving along.
I got my rack built to hold my ATO reservoir. I went larger. I like this 2.0 thing
It's large enough to hold the reservoir and my QT up top leaving room for a nice sized frag tank. Just have to figure how to plumb that in to the tank which is about 15'...
I would love some but I'm still about a week away from ready. If you still have any next weekend I'd definitely take some. A I can offer in return is green hammer. It's all I have left that's hanging on in the stock tank.
Thanks. I have the skimmer on a little stand. I tried to use parts from the old stand but I may have to re cut and take sole more off I think it could use another 1/2" of water
It's not that deep. Last setup was dry from Marco - 160 lbs and the fuge in the sump was my DSB. This go-round I...
2 more bags of sand. Makes for 120 lbs. I started moving rock from. The stock tank. set back now is my Red Sea nitrate kit's solution A is clogged. Ammonia is ok but I need to get a nitrate test
Sands in and clearing up nicely but I think I need a few more bags so that'll delay me a bit.
I did a couple tests. Nitrates are at 2.0 and Ammonia was at 0. I used 4 bags of CaribSea Fiji pink and 2 bottles of bio-spira. I'll add some rock that's free of anything important and give a boost to...
I guess I'll do both. The water got really foul. I'm disappointed b/c it's base rock and is like to have had it available for rock-scape but I've gotta be safe. I think I may add to it. There's some rock that doesn't have anything on it but vermitids and I know I won't get all of those without...
...and what about bleach? I like the idea that a short soak will clean it up and I'm no chemist but if I let it dry won't the chlorine all evaporate without having to be neutralized? I thought about some of the other rock but what I have that's survived is on that rock, some zoas and palys...
