Not sure if you can see it clearly, but the sebae is on top of the rock pile with of of the returns pointed at it. Baby Nemo is swimming in it. Can also see the Gramma in the top left and the dotty right under the the pump on the right side
As far as the bi-color goes, you should be able to add more fish. Just don't add fish that have the psudo-shape body, like royal gramma or firefish. Try a small group of blue/green chromis. I have 3 in my pod (same as yours) with an orchid D. and a royal G. and I have no issues. The dotty and...
Ammonia toxicity is directly related to temperature too. The warmer the water, the more toxic ammonia becomes. So if you keep your water temp in the high range, the ammonia will have a more dramatic effect.
Yes, I tie my own. Usually I go out to east branch, but there is a really good spot up in tuxedo. As far as what trout like, it depends on the time of year and what fly is hatching. I usually do very well with a dry/wet combo. I prefer elk hair caddis or royal wolff with a 2-3' extention and...
I agree. My bulb (14k sunpaq) is about 6" from water surface. I have a mixed tank so positioning can get a bit crazy, but in general, everything thrives nicely.
Mike, I have a 2" unmounted leaf of green cap. I had to break off the whole leaf to fit the piece in a new spot. I was going to chip it out, but if your interested in the whole piece, it is perfect for mounting.
This weekend, I went out fly fishing for the first time this season. Wow was it nice out. The trout were just starting to rise and are hitting elk caddis, bead head nymphs, and black wooly buggers.
Anyone else out there into fly fishing?
I couldn't find anything on the internet about it. Might want to think about how the babies eat. I would probably begin with the steps on breeding clowns. Figure out how to hatch rotifers, etc.
Buyer beware I guess... Pretty upset about this. My 2.5 year old picked it out, only reason I got it, now she is going to have to watch it die. AARGH! Might try telling her that it "changes" like a catapillar does into a butterfly. One day soon, he will hide in the rocks and then a few days...
I just got a purple nudibranch, cute little bugger. The LFS owner and a couple of online stores say it eats algae. Now I am finding out that it only eats a paticular type of sponge and nobody know what species? Anyone know for sure if this animal is doomed?
I had a double 65watt PC over a 15 gal. tank and kept a clam and some SPS in the tank. Clam was in the sand, SPS up high, like 3" under the surface. The bulbs were both combos. One was a 6700k/10k and the other was the duel antinic <blue/purple>. Had decent coloration on the SPS, clam was, well...
It is really not as hard as it sounds. I used the same technique as JohnS except that I etched the whole circle deeper all the way around so that I didnt lose my water well right away. I used a ball point to start with, then switched to a longer tip <1/4" roughly> to break through and finish off.
Luckily a 10 gal tank is real cheap. With that said, I drilled a 15 gal with a dremel and it works great. Make sure you use water on the spot your drilling as a lube. It keeps the dust down and reduces vibration.
For what it's worth, I am going to be trying my Red Sea HOB skimmer on a 24g aquapod. Let you know how it does once it is set up. I have always had great success with the skimmer for nano tanks and is very easy to tune in.
