if you paint inside you do protect the wood and if its white it makes it easy to see inside with or without a lite,and also easy to clean up any mess you might make hope that helps 18fisher

great idea,a friend of mine had the same prob ,it was very hard getting the fish out and they loved jumping in there 18fisher
