Sorry, Saturday isn't a good day. Already healping Sam move his tank and then the meeting right after. If you can make it another day I might be able to help out.

Honestly, I wouldn't advise getting the dual skimmer. I have the CPR Backpack dual on my 55. It looks nice and when I can get it adjusted right it works great. The problem is getting it adjusted because you have to balance out one side against the other which can be a real pain in the ....

I agree!! Very nice Mike. :)
I'm not looking to make this stand and canopy realy pretty as it's a temporary set up until I can get my custom tank and redo the room it's going to go in. I don't want to completely enclose the top of the tank so that I can have free air flow between the tank and...
Matt, like I said, I didn't have the fixture hanging over a tank full of saltwater and corals. I was just holding it in my hand and turned it on for a few minutes to make sure it worked and see how bright it was. From what I did see though, I really liked the color and I'm hoping it will look...
That's why I asked :)
I'm trying to figure out how to hang my lights since I don't really want to go with a full enclosed canopy. I'm planning a roll-away type mounting since the tanks going in my basement and I have a low ceiling height down there. With my stand being 37" tall and the tank...
Hamilton is the only one that make a 250w 14k bulb, that I know of. I went with the 10k Ushio driven by a 250w PFO ballest. I turned it on today just to make sure it worked since I wont be ready to mount it for a couple weeks. It was a little hard to tell exactly, but I would describe the color...
I'm going to be using three 250 watt MH's (PFO retro's w/Ushio 10k bulbs) on my 180 gal (24" deep) tank. I want to be able to keep clams and SPS corals on the bottom if I choose to. How high off the top of the water can I go with the lights?

I read a whole article on these lights. Was very interesting. Wish I could remember where I saw it :(
Anyway, this is not something you could DYI unless you had a lot of time. Each of the LED's has it's own special reflector. I would guess that the reflectors are not something your going to buy...
I think it looks great. I don't care for DSB's that much, but it just doesn't look natural without some sand. Not that bare bottom tanks don't look nice. I have seen some really nice looking bare bottom tanks on RC.

Not all of Trops prices are high. Some are very much reasonable. I believe I paid $20 for my sixline wrasse. Considering that I would have paid close to that, including shipping, at most online stores, I was happy that I got to pick it out myself and take it home and not have to wait for it and...
Matt what kind of clowns do you have?
I bought a BTA in hopes that my pair of Ocellaris would host in it. They never did. They would rather host with the powerhead :( On the good side I have had the BTA about 4 or 5 months now and it's doing well under my pc's. I wondered for awhile, but it...
I took a ride today to Tropiquarium to get some water and another bucket of salt and they had one of the Leopard Wrasses in their display tank. I spent about 20 minutes checking him out while I filled up my water jugs. Very cool looking wrasse.
I haven't used live aquaria for corals yet, but I have ordered fish and inverts from them and the customer service was great. Fish and inverts were all packed really good and arrived in great condition. One of my orders was placed in Feb of last year and the box was packed with heating pads to...
