Got a new favia last night and this afternoon noticed that it is getting some small brown growths. No idea what it is or what's causing it. Any ideas??
ok re tested after a 15g water change with distiled water.
Nitrite=0ppm
Nitrate=0ppm
Ammonia=0.35 ish ppm
PO4=0,5mg/l
PH=8.3
still have high ammonia but tenants seem to be very happy???
Question:is my PO4 at a level that i can keep stony corals???
Re: Salinity way to high
With a specific gravity of 1.035 the fish would have a hard time swimming at the bottom of the tank. Adding that much salt would have the same effect of being at great depthes. Good for anglers bad for reef fish.
If this is wrong (i am no chemistry Major) please let me...
i have blue ricardia and some green dragon eye zoos that seem to have less color then when i bought them. Could it be my lights are to much for them of they are to close to the top of the tank? They are not bleached but the zoos are darker than they should be and the ricardia are a grey dirty...
Could also be a slime coat on the pieces just introduced if the where not acclimated and it shocked the coral. Ive seen this if a piece of salt creep falls in and hits something as well. Food for thought :)
I have never done stony but now have all I need to do so where can I get some real nice ones. All I've Sean has bean brown with brown polyps and a lot of you have very colorful stuff. So where do you get yours???
