I decided that a 15g nano just wasn't doing it for me, so I set up my spare 72g bow front, which was sitting unused on my brothers porch. As of right now, its got salt water in it. Gonna buy new sand and put it in tomorrow. See if I can find that rapid cycling whatsit-majigger-voodoo crap. Then...
Here's a pic of the devil just yesterday :'(
You can see the intake just on the upper right of the pic. The vents aren't very wide and my current isn't REAL strong, so no idea why he got stuck.
It was completely tangled in the intake (which isn't very bug/wide). I took off the intake cap and the anemone and put it in a cup hoping it would untangle itself but it just continued to shrivel and die. :( No life at all unfortunately.... and it looks to have killed one of my gobi's in the...
Doesn't look like it was stuck long and it isn't shredded so i am hoping no ill effect on the rest of the tank. how upset do you think my maroon gold band clown will be with no anemone?
I have 2 tanks a 95 that is 5 years strong and a 15 that is a baby at 3 months. The 15 is the one here in NJ and it is mostly shrooms and zoos but i do have 2 corals i don't know what are if i get my cam i will put pics to identify. The only parameters i am shore of is salinity at 1.0255 my test...
ok, got a purple candy tip LTA that I feel is too big for the tank but it is really nice looking. It will not stay in the places that are good for it, so is there any way to get it to stay put? It stings my mushrooms and other stuff and pulls stuff off the rocks when it travels. Help.....?
I have seen this in many tanks and it seems to be hardy (as far as sps go) but as far as lighting, is there anyone that would frag me a tiny piece to try in my 15g under my compacts. Don't have anything to trade but I could surrender a couple bucks or something.
Is there any way to accelerate the growth of the colony's of zoas and shrooms? Should I be spot feeding with oyster eggs or dt's or something? Maybe dress in drag and do the hula next to the tank twice a day?
I don't know if it is right but its my rule of thumb. When your tank turns a really nice green after the rust stage(bright yellowish orange algae on everything) you are good to go. Don't touch the tank till this happens. then clean the glass and sand if you are using it, wait a day for really...
