Having NO clue what I'm talking about, but simply by going by what I've read, I wonder: Salty28, did you watch your new Dwarf Lion eat before buying him? If so, what were they feeding?
Your tank looks phenomenal! It will be quite the showpiece when your corals begin to grow in.
Please update with photos often. ;D Just loving the look of it.
I'd like to get (several) Merlot. Is there one you can recommend, Rod? They don't all have to be the same. I think it would be great fun if I had several different bottles....sorta like a wine tasting thing at my house while overstuffing ourselves on food. ;D
Talking about wine-tasting. I so...
Chris, IF your B-nest doesn't make it for whatever reasons, please just stop by and I will GIVE you some of mine. ;) That kind of birdsnest is quite hardy, actually, as is the digi. And now I will open my mouth and insert the foot - but will say it nonetheless: You overpaid for those!
Does this count? It's my attempt at a Paludarium, even though I cheated a little. Not all plants are alive. But some are. The setup houses 5 fat, happy Fire Belly Toads and an assortment of guppies that just won't quit reproducing on me. ::) The idea was that the toads would eat some of the...
Thanks guys. :)
John, feel free to stop by. You know the way. Forget about the emerald crabs. I have some, but I've also gotten rid of a few that had their "claws" into stuff they shouldn't have.
Phil, you made me blush. Thanks so much.
Ricky, that's my ORA Red Planet with the sun shining...
WOW - that is one gorgeous tank! LOVE the canopy and the stand. Very, very nice. You should have plenty of room to "play around" in that canopy with the lights and stuff. :)
Thanks, Matt.
Yes, 3-4" should be just fine. And yes, it will be a VERY snug fit for 8 X 80Watts. So snug, that the first and last reflectors bend just a wee bit, but not enough to keep any light out.
I've never seen Anthony's and Terry's tank in person when they had it up. I may have seen...
Thank you very much Darren, Greg, Albie & Bill. :)
So I took a bunch of pictures this afternoon, but before I share them, I need to tell you that I am NOT keeping a sterile tank. What I mean by that is that I do get some cyano, bubble algae, and the occasional patch of hair algae in a small...
Wow, that is a deep canopy. I would lower them a bit, yes, especially since your tank is 29" deep. We actually lowered ours a bit as well by inserting wood first and attaching the retros to the wooden pieces. It also helps with circulating the hot air buildup.
Did someone say wine? I LOVE LOVE LOVE wine. Don't collect it - just gobble it down. Every time Alex manages to "collect" 6 bottles of "better" wine they manage to find their way into my stomach. ::) My favorite is German wine - but I can't drink too much of it at once for obvious reasons. ;D
You could, but you don't have to. I personally used the Tek Ready Fit Retros, and installed them right behind each other, without staggering them. We had to modify the canopy a slight bit (cut out some wood) in order to fit them all, but it was well worth the little effort. Lemme see if I can...
Olivier, my water turned greenish about a week after setting everything up. After the water finally cleared up I had a massive pod explosion. It takes a while for all things to settle and harmonize. It would help if you knew the TDS reading of your RO water. What are you other parameters like?
Bill, so sorry to hear about your psycho pseudo. You have GOT to get him out of there somehow in order to enjoy your tank. As much of a pain in the neck as it may be, it'll be worth the effort and headache. I would also recommend "fishing" him out with a super tiny hook. You could also try a...
