Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
looks like a hobbiests dream to me...not really a store that makes money. where is the drygoods section? where is the fish section? what about the "bread and butter" inverts section?
there are good and bad folks in every club. there are a few people i consider good friends at dvrc. i don't agree with everything they are doing, but i can say that some of the ugliness is dissipating. ;)
you will definitely need more flow in the display than the return pump affords you. also, depending on the size of your sump, a return pump of that size might cause a microbubble issue. so much water coming down so fast and not enough sump to handle it.
i'm using a mag24 return on my 195, but my...
it's not all personal preference. some put out alot less PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) than others. check out sanjay's lighting page for the rundown on most of the common brands.

the way i removed a massive infestation of flatworms from my big tank was to introduce animals that compete with them for food.
flatworms are ambush predators that eat pods. fairy wrasses, mandarins, and the like are excellent for this...
hi. my experience with the remora was that it was about worthless.
microbubbles, lack of skimmate, and what sounded like the suction thing at a dentists office prompted me to get rid of it after 6 months.
ours was so loud i had to put it on a timer to only come on when we were at work, since it...
yes, it's a single reflector that is bent so that it has peaks between each bulb. not nearly as effective as true single reflectors.
also, i own a nova pro, and it's got a short in the sockets somewhere that i haven't gotten into yet. i have to wedge something under the one leg to cock it a bit...
