Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Broke up my big colony as it was just getting too big. Have several large chunks of 10+ heads. $25, first come first serve as far as which ones you get. Also have a orange digi mini colony for $25. Always have other frags on the rack and laying around if you want. PM me if interested.
Can't agree with you more. I always try to tell people on these boards to leave things alone, it usually does more harm than good when you start messing with all this stuff. Fish I have had for many years have gotten ich and all kinds of stuff and it just goes away. Never treated for...
The high capacity is also much harder than the regular so it doesn't break up as much when it tumbles. So you can tumble it harder without worrying about gfo dust in the water. Also, if you have a large system, you don't have to use as much GFO to get the same results, ie you can have a smalle...
Selling this ASM G1 Skimmer. I have been using it for a while on my setup with great results, but decided to upgrade to a new SRO skimmer. I have done several mods that have really increased its performance. These include: mesh mod to the impellar, gate valve mod and increased airline size...
Thanks guys for all the votes. This harlequin star I have rarely comes out during the day and when he did come out and was sitting on that red sponge, I just thought the color contrast looked so good that I had to snap a pic. Thanks again!
For some reason I was thinking that there were 15mL per ounce, but yeah, you are right 30mL to an ounce. To answer your question people that have a light demand like you seem to have, get away with alk replenishment from water changes alone. But at 45mL per day in such a large volume, you are...
Is that a typo? 1.5mL PER DAY? Which product? You mean 1.5mL per gallon per day right? And I also have the precipitate build up on the end of the alk tube, but I have never messed with it and it doesn't seem to be a problem?
I have been doing this for about a year but just in a bucket, not a reactor. The reactor is probably better but the bucket is just fine so far. 1/2cup (160g) NaOH in one gallon of water makes a 1 molar NaOH solution. One gallon of this treats 1 cup of GFO. I usually let it sit in the bucket...
Never heard of that, but you might also kill your SPS in the process. Doesnt sound like an experiment I would want to do. HA is from nutrients, fix the nutrients, HA goes away. Everything else is bandaids.
