I have done a few and I just scrape and remove the silicone from the glass faces and being careful NOT TO CUT THE SILICONE BETWEEN THE GLASS. Then just run a new bead of sili along the joints smooth it with your fingers and its that easy.

Air stone skimmer is very good.. Read about it on the web, they are hard to beat. The problem with them is you have to change the are stone often, once a month, they clog up.

Hard to understand but I think you mean a overflow box feeding a sump or a wet/dry or something ??? I would use a refugium but if you want a skimmer you will need a fuge with enough space to hold that in a seprate chamber .

I have a 55 with a 10gal diy fish tank fuge under it. I have it divided like this 5x10x4 with a bubble 1" bubble trap. 1st chamber has a HOB skimmer on it and live rocks 2nd is sand a chaeto 3rd is the pump. I added tigger pods and some other brand of pods and now I see all 3 chambers loaded...
