You are correct about the patent fight between Solaris and Orbital. But it doesnt stop other smaller companies/people from doing it either in China or other European countries or even DYI version that you can find plans for on RC.
My interest in this topic was started by Wingo and his lights...
thats what I thought too. but he is saying that you can do it and the light will work. so i have asked him 3 times with the link to current usa NEP if this will work the lamp I have. his response was - it will work.
so I decided to test it on my smaller 36' T5 lamp. I mean I will buy one bulb...
here is the pic... as I said earlier - I am not expert on it nor I want to promote anything. I am just surprised by the claims he is making and legion of people in one little country using it with a great success. If there is an expert on LED who could formulate some tough questions - please PM...
I dont mind as long as I will not be accused of promoting company that is not a vendor or something.
here is the short story: I have been visiting some European forums and came across of the led lighting system for the fraction of the solaris.

so as always after a pay day I go and "support" LFS....
not sure what the name is of these PE - i dont have a good camera but will ask Adam to take pics tomorrow with his Canon. polyps have different colors from yellow to pink. and I got few frags since colors were all diferent.
here is a...
thanks Phyl - that's what I was thinking too. If I add a frag tank with one overflow - anything close to 3000gph should be more than enough. even if it is too much - I would rather tee it off back to sump than worry that it is not enough.
all good points. after giving some though to it I became concerned with the issue that the flow would want to follow the least resistant path so I would probably have to valve back the main outlet in order to force flow to the skimmer -(not enough flow to the skimmer).
so in order to avoid...
you are right... I was looking at Adam's tank thread and that's where the question was coming from. since I have decided to make the sump move - the bigger tank will follow eventually. But first I want to design/create the "back office" where all equipment will be located.
the potential new...
