Another ph factor that I have seen before that would drop your ph would be your skimmer is not working or up to par with the bio load..

mh are good for about almost a year depending on brand.. certain brands are more dependable then others.. 12k are good bulbs not to blue and not to white and good growth.. but growth also depends on how well you keep your tank..

I had the same problem.. went to the lfs and they told me crushed coral is great with buffer addiive and all that.. that I had to wash it out first to remove all the white film blah blah blah.. tank remained cloudy like crazy ... emptied out the crush coral and went bare bottom.. crush coral...

get a frag kit and use a scalpel under the mat..
