well i turned the uv off right after i posted, in almost 2 days what i noticed is a decrease in film on my glass and an increase in skimate from my skimmer, i had to close the air valve 1/2 a turn on my beckett
well what i gather is the heat issue, running an in sump skimmer you have a submersable pump, i know wjth my setup i have enough trouble keeping the tank cool, last thing i want is another heat source, plus with an external skimmer it leaves more room for other things in your sump, like a larger...
sorry, i thought i sent you the links, these skimmers are on e bay, in my opinion the mrc or the etss are your best bet, if your going full reef you may want to steer clear of in sump skimmers, only my opinion
Euro Reef RS-180 Protein Skimmer
Euroreef CS-250 Skimmer w/ drain kit & gate valve mod

My Reef Creations Protein Skimmer MRC duel mint!
Custom My Reef Creations MR-6 Becket Protein Skimmer
knowing its a 120, i would go with atleast a mrc mr2 or a etss xr600, there is no such thing as over skimming, what i like about the mrc skimmers is you can ad chambers and the skimmer will grow with your demands instead of having to go out and buy another skimmer
definatly go big on the skimmer, cant be too big, and dont skimp on the lighting, water circulation is a biggie also. if you are going with halides youll also need a chiller.

good luck wendy, i went from a 90 folr to a 175 reef, i was nervouse at first too, but now that i have it established and thriving, i wish i had gone bigger, like a 240 or 300, but i love my 175 and i still have the 90 set up, i just moved it to the bedroom ;D
