Im trying to figure out the right size sump for my new 72ga Bow. I was thinking of going with a 30" L x 12" W x 16" H but was wondering if anyone knew the amount of water this particular sump can hold and if this is enough for the tank?
Just got home from HD, I'll start my paint project today I'll be doing the blue background first. Once I'm done with that I'll do the trim. How many coats do you think, its a semi gloss exterior Glidden paint.
I would definitely be interested for a 72ga bowfront. I need to make a stand capable to hold over 100lbs of LR plus 65lbs of LS in addition to water. Your design will include the drawings also for the canopy right. LMK... Thanks
:) Thanks everyone, I took it outside and gave it a good wash. I will wipe it down tomorrow and prep it for the paint job. I found a awesome blue for the background. One more question should I paint the corner overflow area or should I leave it exposed to look ar the pipes? ???
I just picked up another 72ga Bow which will be used to upgrade my 46ga bow FOWLR. The only problem is that its brown trim. Has anyone painted the trim black w/o any problem with peeling down the road? I wont attempt to change the trim for fear of causing leaking problems. I've seen at HD that...
Re: Ecotech Marine VorTech MP20
I have a 40 on my 46ga bowfront w/ a scwd on my return. The 40 was a little too strong for the tank it had to run at a very low setting to prevent a sandstorm. So about 2 weeks ago I bought a 20. Love it cause its got all the features of the 40 and no sandstorms.
One more question, the tank is wood colored trim and I was thinking of using this opportunity to paint the background black and at the same time paint the trim black. Has anyone done the trim before and have you encountered any problems with it flaking off or peeling? ??? Thanks.
The width on the 46ga stand is 36", the width on the 72ga is 48". By placing a 1/2" flat board on top I think it would remove the stress on the 6" overhang on each side.
I have a question for all members, let me explain: I currently have a 46ga bow (FOWLR), and a 72ga bow (full reef). The problem is that the stand on the 72ga is in real bad shape (particle board material damaged by water), its a standard 55ga stand that I nailed a 1/2" board on top to use with...
Im curious why my leathers (toadstools) have stood up including the top (head) they have been in my tank since 05/2008 they are approx. 5" big very nice. Today I noticed that they sucked in the top, they usually drope down and expand the mushroom top and all the little polyps are still out. No...
Thanks for the answer I've made up my mind 75ga it is. I will keep you posted on the new tank, Im thinking it will be my show piece, will apply what I've learned from dealing with my smaller tank.
I am looking into upgrading my 46ga bowfront with either a 75 or 90 gallon rr tank but need some help with the dimensions. What size are both of these tanks? W x D x H??? Thanks everyone
I know water parameters are just as important as lighting. My water quality is good Ammo 0ppm

my only problem is my Nitrates, usually around 15/20ppm, I do regular bi weekly water...
