My personal expierience has shown me that old bulbs do create algae. I bought a used fixture which I was told only had 3 mons. on the bulbs. I guese he lied to me but I couldn't afford new bulbs so I went on using it. What a nightmare I had so much algae growing on the glass that I removed it...

I have decided to sell this sump and will make my own from a 20ga just have to figure out where to place the glass dividers for the return and intake (bubble catcher) and an area for my skimmer. Does anyone have a diagram of their sump that I can use?

Just my 2 cents worth I have the same fuge made by CPR, purchased used from a fellow njreefer "ynotme", i believe I paid $60 for it used. Works well I set it up w/Mineral Mud,LR, and Chaeto. I have controled my red slime hair algae that used to form on my sand and LR. Good luck with your set-up.

I am using a General Water RO/DI unit, one word "awesome". I bought it from another member here for $80 just replaced the feed valve and have been making 0-TDS using the DI and 16-tds just RO. have had no problems and its easy to set up.

What size do they come in? Are 50ga the smallest for the rubbermaid tubs? Some one let me know, because I'm looking into setting it up in the basement with my skimmer and other equipment, less clutter in the DT. Thanks

Sorry for my ignorance but what is a dorso pipe? I have an eshopp overflow that I plan to use with a sump once I make it. But am not sure how to set it up. It came w/ a bulkhead and a foam prefilter for the pipe on the outside box. Will this setup be noisy? Thanks email: reefkeeper2008@hotmail.com

MIKEM, I am thinking of making a sump from a 20ga 24l x 17h x 12d if I get the glass dividers cut for a return section and intake section would you silicone them in place, wherever you think they should go? And if yes, how much will you charge me? Thanks

I just replaced my original bulbs w/ Geisemann and am very happy with the color and output. (2)actinic plus, (1)pure actinic, (1)aquablue plus I placed them in this order: Front- Pure Actinic Actinic+ Aquablue+ Actinic+ Goodluck with your lighting choice.
