I had aquired some live rocks and Now I see some clumps of red bubbles growing on them.. I'm thinking is red bubble algae. Will this stuff spread quickly all over? Do emerald crabs eat this stuff? Thanks for the help

Interesting , Chemipure says you can leave in 1-3 months at a time... an that's what I've been using. But I also read , and now you confirmed , that running it only 1 week out the the month is better so it don't strip the water of good stuff and possibly leach bad stuff back into the water...

A fan would be a good emergency item to have around it if can drop temp that much. or If using MH lighting a fan would be a must to keep temp cool. I use the T-5 and they give off very little heat I bought them to avoid having to use chiller. I like the T-5's

I like your ziplock bag idea to make the frozen emergency ice pack , It's made for food so shouldn't have any chemicals on it, It wont take up to much room to float in tank when needed and better then icecubes... It wont melt in and mess up your salt levels ; ) Good Idea ! Thanks
