calaxa ,
So you saying that the copper deteriorates the silicone and would make for a bad risk tank.
water on the floor is a very bad thing
Is it a good idea to re-silicone over existing silicone in the tank before setting it up?
Your also saying that the frog stool could exist if copper leech...
This site is Great cause I'd trust people here as a community ;)
I'm in the works of maybe getting this other tank from a friend of a friend
and you never know
so just wanted to be safe and see if I could clean it well so I don't have problems.
I always use poly fiber and carbon in my drip...
cool , I didn't know you could get store discounts from being a member as well.
I need to send that check in asap.
The turbos I bought for my reef ( that were said to be turbos ) are pretty small and but they zip around and go really fast on the glass.
I'll look for the mex turbos at trop.
Sea hare will proubley be my easiest solution,
Maybe Mike's big boy seahare can come over for a visit and have a feast
I'd be afaid to buy one and not be able to care for it
Mike said it cleaned a rock in 10 minutes!
I'm buying this old set up that has the live rocks and it has major hair...
I read and got mexican hermit crabs that were suposta eat cayno... did alittle but not enough.
I had an outbreak and now I almost have it out... I added a phosband reactor to my sump
and it made a major improvent over a months time.
I was using phosband in my drip tray but without the reactor...
Curious to know , if can be cleaned to ride copper if was ever used
The prior tank owner maynot know or tell truth about using the meds.
or dose copper somehow stick into the glass, silicone , plactic , ect. and can't be removed and then will kill corals
Whats the deal with the medicine?
I'm loking to get a used tank
so
If there was ever meds added into a tank ,filter , piping , ect
and then the tank , filter , piping , ect was cleaned,
and now you reset everything up.
Will the old remains of the meds still hurt the corals in the new setup ?

will a lawnmower blenny get along with ( my possible problem mates )
neon goby?
stigmata blenny ?
mandarin ?
Dottyback ?
fairy wrasse?
if so then I could put him into my reef when he's done his job
Lawnmower won't be compatable with my upcoming setup ,
but I guess I could add him first and let him do his job and then find him a new home.
This stuff looks like grass, thick, short and bright green
Lawnmower will eat this hair algea?
Will this work ?...
If I take the rock with hair algae growing all over it
and put in a container with saltwater and a bubbler for movement
and then keep the rock and container in the dark for some time
Will this kill the algae on the rock and keep the rock alive?
sorry to hear your loosing your feathers
I thought it was my butterfly who ate mine , but maybe it was my peppermints LOL
either way . one of them rid my tank of my aiptasia.
Funny story , my first friend in my tank was an aiptasia, so cute on my rock then I found out what it was, hahaha and...
I'm going call around to see how much a reef ready tank would cost.
Was going to buy and then have tank drilled or buy an over flow to save $$$
Space for the overflow is an issue also as I'm not needing a long big tank cause it's for seahorses.
I was planing on using an aqua clear 70 to fit...
I do hope that my peppermints are still in there and alive ... no dead bodies..
I usually do see one or two at feeding time but
maybe they went into hiding since the new wrasses want there homes in the rocks.
one wrasse keeps knocking my frogsporn out of its hole.
I think he's gona win soon and...
