After being sent to fish pergatory, ie. my 125 punishment tank along with her partner in crime, my Asfur Angel for the past 9 months, I tried to re-introduce them both to the reef. They never bothered my corals to any great extent, it was their attitudes towards my other Angels that annoyed me...
Thanks all for the kind words, but I don't think it was really anything I did, I think it was all on him, I just gave him a chance. Still can't get a decent pic of him 'cause of all the other camera hogs. Thanks again.
Posted a month or so ago about a Majestic I rescued with severe clouded eyes and a nasty case of Amylo. He has recovered, quite well actually. I moved my reef and juggled the Angels around. Included some pics of the rebuilt reef. Let me know what you think. By the way, it's tough getting pics of...
I also run halides on my 210, I made a canopy 10"s high, the top is open, but I took eggcrate and cut it to fit the back standing on end and stapled it to the canopy. I'll add a pic as soon as I get some batteries for the camera.
He most definitely thrashed, which is what I expect when crypto starts popping from his gills. I have 2 QT's setup, the 55 he's in is new salt with 25% daily changes, I did use Melafix last night as it was the only thing I had on hand. As of tonight, the right eye is clear, the left eye is more...
Been sitting here having a Yuengling with my new friend for the past few hours and it seems he's got a Crypto infection, the eye cloud is probably a secondary bacterial infection. Did not see any signs of it before, so I need to stop that first. He took a 5 minute fresh dip well, and he's still...
If you don't know by now,I love Angels. Came across a sick Majestic a couple hours ago. Both eyes are clouded over, but he eats like a champ. Not sure how he see's food, but he does. I couldn't let this guy suffer the way he was. So with the threat of bodily harm he was given to me. At present...
In my tanks it's been hit or miss with many Angels. Had a Blueface that loved zoa's, when he was done with them it was a very large Welso, then Elegance, he went to the Purgatory tank. Keep them well fed and your corals healthy and there should be minimal damage, although any individual can...
My Angel reef is a 210 with a 40 gal. breeder tank for a sump. Lighting is 3x 250w m/h, 14k. 3 1050 Hydor circ. pumps, return pumps are 2 mag. 950, soon to be replaced with 1800's. AquaC 240 skimmer. Considering a skimmer upgrade.
Work kept getting in the way, keeping me from getting the Personifer out of QT and into the reef. She's finally in. Not a True Personifer, but a Queensland Yellowtail, handsome fish just the same. Can you call a girl " Handsome? " Just wondering.
Getting ready for work yesterday morning and on checking my tanks before leaving I noticed my temp controller on the 125 was reading 75 with the heater switched on, that tank is set for 78. The element is in the sump, the water in the sump was quite warm, I discovered that somehow the probe had...
The Queen, Asfur and French came from Dominic at Aquarium Center in Blackwood. The Emp., Blueline and Personifer( which I haven't photographed yet), came from Mike Stern at NYAquatic. If you want some great rare fish at a decent price check out NYAquatic, all his fish are eating before their...
