    The VHO Super Actinics will give you that flourescent pop that you are looking for. I have always used the Phoenix 14K for the look and PAR. They look more like a 20K. If I was to change it probably would be the Reeflux 12k or possibly the XM 10K which require good actinic supplimentation IMO.

    Green Hydno ?

    I'm not sure it is the amount of light it is receiving. I have mine up high in my 90 gallon tank under a 250w MH 14K Phoenix bulb with 2 x 110 VHO Super Actinics. I've had it over two years now and it is growing well. I've never heard of a hydno turning yellow brown but it doesn't sound healthy...
