Just so you don't get too discouraged I'm willing to show the uglier side of my 15:
I think I have cyano in this section of the tank for 2 reasons- (1) it was set up for a couple of weeks before being plumbed to the 90, which allowed nutrients to build up and (2) I have low flow in that...
I thought about going barebottom once, then decided against it because too many of the fish that I wanted preferred a sandy substrate. I guess the main drawback would be limiting yourself as to what you could keep.
Wow!! Potential POTM shots! That's quite a compliment :D I never even imagined entering that contest because of my crappy camera. I had lots of time on my hands today due to the fact that I was stuck babysitting a sick 4 year old. So me and the tanks saw lots of each other. I'll have to keep...
Oops. This probably could have been posted in the photography forum. Never thought about that since i don't consider myself a photographer. Sooooooo...since it is the Tale of the Tank forum I'll take that route. The gobies are in the 15g which is plumbed to the 90. The 15 was more packed with...
My girlfriend has used a turkey baster to blow water at the base of the anemone. When it starts to get annoyed it will loosen its hold on the rock and you should then be able to move/remove it.
Thanks. I really do need more sps in there. So far the frags I got from you have shown some decent growth so I think I can handle a few more :D Just remember what Jessica said "NO more frags!!" So if you have any colonies available...... ;D
Thanks! Well, to be honest it's more of a 15 gallon hooked up to a 90. My girlfriend decided to yank the divider out that would have made it a fuge. Even though the water level doesn't reach the top of the tank, it will still act as a "refuge" for the smaller critters I would like to keep...
Here's a long overdue update. After way too many trips to Lowes the big move is finally over. I combined the 46 gallon bowfront and 16 gallon bowfront without as much drama as I had anticipated. The hardest part was plumbing the 15 to the 90. I forgot I had to plumb AROUND the stand :-X
I'm...
Sad to say, I'm down to 1 Panda Goby. Found 1 stuck to the intake tube of the Aquaclear then it wasn't long before the peppermints swooped in for an easy meal. I'm assuming he starved to death since I read somewhere that tiny fish have high metabolisms and they can't go very long without eating...
Funny you should mention that. I told her that one day I want to be the resident goby go to guy just like panmanmatt is the resident seahorse expert. I'll definitely need your input once we get the tank set up. That dream just ain't going to go away for her ;D
This is my one and only Catalina now that she has that out of her system. Since I bought him, he has grown quite a bit. His fins are always erect and he is very active. Whenever he sees me he comes to the front of the tank expecting to get fed. These are the signs that give me the impression...
I was expecting some feedback regarding the Catalina. Here's the story behind him. Went to Aquatic Obsessions for the first time back in October and my girlfriend saw a greenbanded goby and the Catalina. I really did not want him because I've read he is a cold water fish. My girlfriend was...
