Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I have been using hydrogen peroxide. It works awesome. I would pour enough in the cup that the disc is covered and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. The algae will die and fall off in the tank. If you get it on the coral it will still be fine. All softies are fine with it, most lps do ok as well...
I agree with taz that it would have to be against two different sources and also compared to an ro without a di stage. Also curious how it would handle chlorine vs chloramine.
I would imagine you could start a good small store for 2-300K and build from there. I am sure to start up a big operation with a high inventory volume a million or so isn't that far off.
I do know that the original owner who started ILC he was into a lot of people for money. A new owner was...
My ro has two solid block carbon filters which I am guessing are the same ones in your system. The only difference with yours is the high density ceramic block. You said that yours is a .2 micron filter which is probably great for most drinking water applications. Viruses can be as small as .02...
Prices are decent. The selection is average. It is probably better to order what you want instead of waiting for them to get it. They don't have issues with ordering in things when I ask for them.
I think that was my wife that meet you at the aquarium center. She told me a wrasse jumped out an hit someone in the face when she was there. Glad you found us and I look forward to meeting you at one of the meetings.
I changed the ballasts out in my outer orbit, but I have the pc version. I don't know if the ballasts are under driven or not and I can't help you much with that. The ballasts weren't that hard to change out. I would make sure the ones you get fit in there though. The fit is kinda tight.
Well if you added rock you should wait because you will probably have a cycle. I would wait to add things and light because it will give the rock some time to digest all the extra nutrients that are causing that algae.
I would let the rocks sit in the tank for a few weeks/month without light to cycle/cook the rock and the algae (and excess nutrients) should go away for good. Don't add anything living to the tank yet either.
Also don't worry about the stomatellas, they are good to have.
I agree, after everything I have heard about acrylic and the fact that you can buy a large acrylic tank from some builders and they won't even warranty them, no thanks for me.
I think you are confusing reefcleaners.org and reefscavengers.com. We did the unofficial member organized group buy through reefcleaners.org(unless you did another one?) And fyi my order with reefcleaners.org was awesome. The macro I got was really healthy and I received a lot snails than what I...
I think the 12 JBJ's are really nice size. I have heard of the 24's cracking before. I am sure it was over on reef central. I don't think there is a lot of frustration with a small tank. Perhaps go with a homemade approach and make something unique. There are some really neat ideas floating around.
