Yeah, I got the same. A ton of snails and crabs and sifter starfish. I never had this problem when I had a yellow sleeper that sifted the sand. Thos buggers are hard to find again....

Ok guys and girls, I have had red slime problems in the past. I am currently experiencing some problems with my live sand. The sand seems to have a brown tint to it.. My nitrates are very low. since I have a denitrator and a skimmer running all the time. Any ideas what it is????????

I would suggest putting the largest wattage heater you can find and or multiple heaters in the sump. So when the temp outside drops the heaters kick in. I would also suggest putting the heaters on a UPS system if possible. Insulating the tank on the outside with perhaps styro foam or if possible...

Can any tell me do they use aquarium mud (Walt Smiths FIJI MUD) in their tanks? Also if so what advatages does it have? Is the product worth using?? Also how do you apply it if you do not have a refugium tank.

I would suggest a Deltec skimmer recently purchased one and its a work horse. I purchased the MC500 ($420 purchased from Deltec.) from Deltec it fits inside the sump comes with a pump, it really rocks. Check it out at www.deltec.com The are very reputable vendors and have some terriffic products.
