Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Well, you know how it is.. If you get one with the lights off, you need to get one with the lights on. Just a reference photo here. Nothing to see. Move along :)
you are right.. I guess I considered it to be the quarantine tank and I should not have taken that chance.. God willing everything will be alright.. Thanks for the input. Next time I will be sure to do a quarantine.. :)
There is nothing in the tank to quarantine him from. If there was any livestock at all in the tank I would have, but since there is nothing in there but rocks and snails and he is no bigger then my pinky fingertip. I just did not think it was necessary. None of the water he came in was added to...
Well, thanks to something sweet I was fortunate enough to locate a green banded goby in my area. He does not have a name yet as I am sure my fiance will let me know what that is. :) I will enjoy him as I hope you will the photo. I acclimate him in the bag in the tank for 1 hour pouring a 1/5 of...
Hello Hello,
Just a photo update. This is Elwood's Debut. He has been in the tank 1 month ( and he is still alive ) However, I just can't get over the colors. Amazing colors to say the least. Well, at least to me. :)
Elwood meet everyone. Everyone meet Elwood. :)
Why kill him? He ate 300 dollars in fish.. He is worth a lot now. :) heh... That think looks mean as hell. Good luck getting him.. Please post your progress as video footage. I could win 10,000 dollars on AFV. No seriously.. Good luck!
I just want to post a BIG HAPPY 40th B-DAY to the PRESIDENT of this fine organization. May your day be happy and blessed. Many More!!!

Generally speaking, ANY bulb should be changed after 2500 hours of burn time (3000 hours at most). Much after this, the intensity decreases dramatically, and you tend to have a spectral loss at the blue/UV end. Changing bulbs at a regular interval will avoid this. As an example, suppose you are...
well you would have to buy a logitech fusion camera ( which you can get for like 30.00 ) and then you would need the webcamXP software ( which you can get for $40.00 ) and then you just need a pc that has a usb port and your are ready to go.
Re: ReefCam Operational
Just an FYI. The Reefcam is operational today Saturday 08.18.07, and will be on till 10pm this evening if anyone is interested.
It is pretty hard to tell from the image, but it might be a nudi. If it is and someone here can verify that I would take it to the LFS and see if they would buy it or just give it to them. Otherwise, it will just die in your tank. If you have seen it eating anything chances are it is not a nudi...
Hello there,
I know you can't wait to get started.. always the case, but you have been very patient and I commend you on this. What you need is something more like this

Now I am NOT SAYING for you to get this...
As each day goes by I think I am liking it more.. more open like you guys said and thanks for all the kind words. When you do something like this and people respond to it.. well, it makes it even more worthwhile. So thanks!
24lbs of live rock from pacific East, but boy there were some major...
With the lighting you have you are more then capable of keeping some nice shrooms, zoo, and certain lps, even acans. Plenty of color to go around. Now granted the colors might not POP as much under PC's as they would with 70 or 150w MH, but enjoy the tank for what it offers and if you upgrade...
wow... you are even more simplistic then me. You need to get a piece of coralline encrusted rock in there to seed the tank. It looks like it might even be coming in. Have you even cycled yet. I think I see remnants of a diatom. You have the right idea. Keep it simple and have less problem, but...
Welcome aboard Ihop!!! I actually eat there on Tuesday nights with my parents while they are in NJ. 50% off everything for seniors. :) Hope to see you at a meeting.. I won't be at this one but will be at the one in September.
Well for me it is going to be one of these two. They only grow to about 1.5 inches and start off at less then an inch. I am leaning more towards the green banded goby.
Green Banded Goby - delacatinus multifasciatus
Bi-Color Blenny - escenius bicolor
