Not being able to see anything I cannot search for the proper resolution, but here are some ideas
(past week) started to show areas of white to off-white small patches on the anal and lateral fins. The white spots don't appear to look like anything I've seen or read concerning ICH or Velvet so...
This is a tough one and then not so much. I like actinics so I just couldn't go with a t5 unless I could throw in another fixture that had actinics as well. MH would cook this tank depending on height and just seems like a huge ordeal, but does have actinics. I would figure out the par of LEDS...
heh... was just talking to panmanmatt about that.. A little expensive. I was hoping someone local would have it.
# mynd : but thanks for the link! I appreciate the response..
# mynd : I don't want to spend 65.00 plus tax for a goby.. ;)
# mynd : actually they won't let you buy anything unless...
I am about to post a question on the forum ( just finding out where to do it so that the sponsors see it ) to get availability and pricing on a green banded goby - Elacatinus multifasciatus.
green banded goby. I hope someone can get it for me or at least a price. This is what I want :)
I am most interested to find out where you purchased or received the infected rock, sand or coral? Do you have any idea where these problems originated?
up to 180 should be fine.. I always in the past purchased skimmers that were no less then capable of running twice the size of my tank. I just used it as a good rule of thumb. However, you should be just fine.. :) Good Luck! You can't go wrong with Octopus. I have heard great things... great...
I have heard more bad then good about that thing. If you are interested in a nano sized skimmer then check out sapphire aquatics and see if they make one in your size.
The test kits I use are as follows:
Red Sea - Silica, Magnesium
Aquarium Pharmaceutical, Inc. ( API ) - Ammonia, Nitrate, PH
Tetra Test - KH ( carbonate hardness )
Nutrafin - Nitrate, Phosphate, Calcium
Those are what I think to be the best kits to use. Pretty Accurate and easy to read and...
Hello there,
I don't have anything yet for mojamos, but if you could get some pictures up here that would be awesome, just so other people who don't know what they are can see what you have so maybe they can start early before it becomes uncontrollable.
Check this out. Just a suggestion...
thanks for the replies. I know this one is weird.
Foul would be something like picking up a shell and there still being something dead inside after baking in the sun all day.
Salty / foul would be like the smell of seaweed or a shell that is on the sand but has nothing living in it any more...
yes, this is for real and it is ok if they don't grow algae, just rub your fingers over them and let me know if it smells foul or salty like when you go to the ocean or if it is a little of both.
Thanks in advance.
Hello there,
Here is something for you to try. Wash your hand and arm with distilled water and don't use a towel to dry it off. Next put your hand in your tank and grab one of your snails ( one that has some algae on him / her ) and rub you fingers over the shell. Next put the snail back and...
That really looks nice.. Big change from June. I would have thought you would need more then a 1 gallon with that load, but it looks great, clear and clean. Keep the progress coming as it is always nice to see the tanks changes over time. I actually do like the rock work.. there is just...
Looks great! What size tank is it? Can you tell us a little bit about the plumbing and your regiment? Nice work! Does that hawk fish stir up the substrate? How big is he/her?
nice!.... Looks good.. Simple, Easy on the eyes.. Coralline is growing in. Tell us a little about it and yourself. What you got running in there? Water changes? How often, etc...
