Price is cheap but if you get this unit you might also want to look at a chiller.$$$ If your not too sure which way your going to go with your tank, take a look at IceCap retro kits with 4xt5 bulbs. They will be good for you now and later on if you decide to upgrade you could still use them just...
Check for dead spots, add more water flow. I was having the same problem in my tank I had 2x maxijets 1200 running and could not figure out how to get rid of it, then I switch to 2x Koralia 4 and it was gone in a week. Since then I haven't had any type of algae growing in my sand or rocks.
Hello guys,
I want to add more live sand to my already establish tank. I would be adding this to the refugium area, now what's the best way I could do this? should I have to cure it first? or add little at the time and keep an eye on the water parameters.
I'm redoing my sump and refugium and in the design process is to minimize the use of pumps. I want to know where will be the best line to T off for my TLF reactors one running with carbon and the other with GFO.
I was thinking the return line, but then I will have to upgrade the pump...
I'm about to order some more food for my fish and just wondering what is everybody else using. I've been feeding my fish Ocean Nutrition formula two flakes, seaweed select and San Francisco Bay frozen products, I would like to know if there is anything that you guys are using to keep your fish...
I don't think that a 4 bulb fixture is brighter than an 8 bulb fixture, but I think a fixture/retro kit that has evenly spread bulbs is going to provide better lighting. The 120g tank is 24" wide, will it be better having an 8 bulb fixture only 12" wide with 6 inches of dead space on both...
I also wonder about the reflectors on this unit. The catalina fixture is only 12" wide with 8 bulbs, while the IceCap T5 retro kit is around 10" wide with 4 bulbs, this is going by the reflectors size of 2.5" wide. I wonder if the output of the catalina reflectors are the same or comparable to...
I have also been looking at this lights for quiet some time now. I read good things about them every where, the only negative thing I've read about it is that the end caps are rubber and not water proof. You may also consider getting a icecap t5 retro kit "No Bulbs" from marine depot for $300...
