I'm using Tropic marin salt mix. My CA is at 400ppm and ALK 9-10 dkh. I have been using 2 part kit from bulkreefsuppply to maintain my CA & ALK, but my MAG was high before using the two part kit, before I used to used seachem products to maintain my CA & ALK.

I would not be able to tell you how high it really is, but after using a salifert magnesium test kit the color never changed from pink to the grayish/blue color. according to other people here that was a sign of extremely high magnesium levels.

One week after my first magnesium test and one water change my magnesium levels are showing to be way to high. I have never dose any magnesium into my tank and I can't figure out why my magnesium is so high.
Is there a way to reduce magnesium levels?

When I first got my UV sterilizer I used to run it 12hrs on during the day and 12hrs off at night. After a few months a started run it 24/7, the only change that I notice between not having one, 12hr on/off cycle and running it 24/7 was the increase of skimate my skimmer is pulling out.

Ok last night I got my oreder from bulkreefsupply.com I got one 2 part kit and an extra magnesium just in case since I've never dose it to my tank before....
I tested for MG using a Salifert MG test kit, I followed all the steps and after adding the entire MG-3 solution part of the test it did...
I have a 50" plasma and the only reason I bought it, its because at the time there wasn't any LCD's that size. They are both good but with the plasma you will slowly start to see picture burn.... with a plasma TV you always have to keep worrying about not leaving something in pause for too long...
