my ph is reading 8.0, but my alkalinity is reading a dKH of 16. i know its never supposed to go beyond 12 with a desired level of 9. how do i lower this? will my ph buffer cause my alkalinity to go up, its not the kent superbuffer which builds dkh. help
invest in a biotherm heater, and hook it up to a biotherm controller or single stage ranco. its worth the investment. some reviews on reef central are poor for the biotherm, stating that when the power goes out they reset to 90 degrees and fry your tank, but ive unplugged them then plugged them...
will you be putting this in your wall as well? if not, then you would be buying a stand and/or canopy for this tank. if those are new, then the couple hundred dollars you are saving on a used tank isnt worth your investment imo. for a couple hundred more you could have a reef ready tank that is...
do you currently have an ro reservoir? if not i recommend getting a 30 gallon rubber garbage can from lowes or homedepot and hooking up a float valve kit to it. from there run your maxijet to your tank.
central pet bought the companies out. they make products like heaters and power filters under the brand name aqueon. oceanic will only be starphire glass now (ultimate series and tech series) and will continue to be their higher end, and all-glass will be the non starphire tanks. the regular...
this came with needle valve and solenoid valve. im sure what youre seeing is a replacement part. allquatics in hamilton on south broad st. uses this co2 regulator on their calcium reactor in their show tank.
i cant find coral glue in stock anywhere, i was wondering the loctite gel formula was safe for corals. i am trying to salvage some zoo polyps and put them on the reef disc they came fell from.
Ligershark, in your situation, I would take the effluent of your aqualifter and use that as the in-feed to your kalk reactor. Then take your out flow from the ka reactor and send that hose into your sump. Wa-la, you've got it installed. You put powder in once a week/month and the water flows...
i have a acjr and it only comes with one ph probe, but to buy a acIII or pro plus the probe expansion box would be too costly (cant use it on jr model). it would be cheaper to buy another acjr to read the ph lol. since i can only read one ph level with the acjr, i would use the pinpoint to read...
im not completely sure how this would work. i have an auto topoff unit from autotopoff.com. i currently draw water from my ro reservoir that is filled automatically with my ro unit and solenoid and float valves. from here my water gets pumped through my aqualifter to my tank. if i purchased...
would you recommend getting a calcium reactor that has the ph probe in the effluent chamber or in the tank to trigger the release of co2? i only have an AQJR and if i get a reactor that has the ph probe in the effluent chamber then i will have to rely on my stupid no good pinpoint ph monitor...
i would be in for one of these maybe even two if my friend wants one, too much dissolved co2 in his tank causing the ph to drop. phyl is this the model you are using? i was going to purchase a calcium reactor because i got my hands on a FREE brand new 10lb co2 tank and regulator.
