Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Could just be people that spout off such things to act like big shots, but I must say that I've heard it quite a bit.
I do know of one in California that does walk-ins, but obviously nothing in the Tri-state area.
It's actually in Hell... erm, or that's where it should be ;)
Route 9 in Howell. Near the Office Max in the Howell Commons Plaza. Same plaza as the Applebees as well.
I must say, I quite like the job. Though the higher-ups aren't that great, our bunch of employees are pretty rad. I've treated...
Name's Jonathan.
Been into fish for as long as I can remember.
21 years old and right now I am one of the fish specialists at the Howell Petco.
No tank pictures right now, mainly because I'm re-tooling everything and getting rid of my old tank (check the for sale thread ;)).
Happy to be around.
Wouldn't that be hysterical to see Petco at an event like this?
But it would never happen when we can't order more than 1 roll of scotch tape but can order as many $40 scanner batteries as we want! ;D ;D ;D
I always hear about people going to wholesalers and picking up stuff from them.
Any wholesaler around here open to the public? I live in Monmouth County but could easily drive an hour or two to check out a good wholesale facility and pick up some fish and/or coral.
You can trust me when I say that 2 drops per gallon is going to do nothing.
And yes, remove the hippo and the flame. Otherwise the Brook will likely never, ever be fully removed from the tank.
All have to go into a QT. What size tank are you running for a QT?
Frankly, you can do the formalin...
What other fish are in the tank?
You're going to have to set up a quarantine tank. Let the main tank run fallow for about 8 weeks (aka without fish).
I'd definitely treat all of the percs. They are pretty good in formalin baths.
My numbers are here:

Yep. Fished quite a few out. Gave away most of them. Get a snorkel, some goggles, and a decent sized net. They all come up on the jet stream late summer every year. Puffers and lionfish as well. And a few butterflies.
Same. I've been watching them like a hawk each time I came in. I've gotta say, if I had paid the original $200, it wouldn't have been even close to a bad deal. So what I got off of them made it even nicer.
Love these fish already (though they hate my Bartlett's Anthias and have chased him a few...
Wait till the end of summer. Go to the shore (particularly Belmar -- right at the inlet near the bridge) and fish up some Blue, Queen or French angels. Choose your favorite and go from there.
Free angels! ;)
They were at Tropiquarium for a few months now. Had my eye on them for a long time. $200 for the pair, but I got them for a pretty deep discount when I exchanged some fish that I needed to get out for them. Won't go into details there, though.
But man alive are these fish awesome. My new...
Just stay away from the Chevron tangs. Get 11"s or so (likely half that in captivity, but still).
The Parvirostris anthias is a favorite of mine. Got a set of 3 from Aquatic Obsessions. Stay relatively small 2-3"s TOPS and are quite peaceful with each other and other fish. Plus they are...
