Without money I am unsure of what to do, but if I had a tank that was about that size I would get one of these.
Sea Line 1/4 HP In-line Chiller
Good Luck..
You ain't kidding... I had to go down to the end of my block today to get my recyclables container since the water rushing down the mountain carried it away. My neighbors garbage pails and recyclables containers were all in a heap. lol. Woke me up about 4am here. I just watched everything get...
I would think that it would need to be pretty basic to start, just like this site. Covering the same information would be very good. You can always buy other books that cover water specifics and compounds later.

It was easier for me to write 0 then to get into fractions of a gallon. Believe it or not I have seen a lightbulb reef tank. That can't be more then a few ounces.
Actually it is stated on more then one site that the definition of a nano is anything less then 20Gallons. The header for this forum should really read "all in ones" but since most all in ones now go up to about 34 gallons and is a stand alone little system the idea of a nano on this forum being...
There is some rule somewhere that says have a snail of cuc that is equivalent to 1 item per 2 to 3 gallons. Since your tank is a 26 Gallon Tank ( I assume ) it would mean you could have about 8 - 10 critters, but be reasonable with their size.
That would be 40 watts total on a tank that is like...
I would contact these people asking them a question like " Can this tank support these bulbs?"

Hello all,
I was fortunate to get some nice hitchhikers in my tank with the rock I purchased ( still not happy about the silicates ) However, very small right now, but should I remove him or let him liven up the sand bed? Let me know what you think?
I think that everyone has a point. However, emanaresi has gotten a little closer to the laymen answer. It should dissolve and enter the water as either nitrates or phosphates / silicates, only to be removed by natural or added options. In regards to algae spored being introduced into the tank. I...
What no one has really touched on is the basic fact that having a UPS covers any power blips ( those are when the power goes on off on off every few minutes ) Having those blips can render hardware useless and in some cases pumps won't restart. I love having a UPS and I would not have a tank...
What an excellent time.. Lots to talk about... New people to meet, the ability to once again be amazed not only by your tank, but the effort of both you and your entire family. It was a wonderful day weather wise as well. Carol and I had a great time meeting everyone. The food was awesome! Your...

Hello there,
Interesting question that I have here for ya's.
If you get a diatom bloom in your tank followed by a brown coating of algae on your rock and especially on the sand, and you are able to remove all nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, phosphates and silicates "WILL THE ALGAE JUST...
I agree... Awesome... Clear and clean.. A real Beut! LOL.. Keep them coming.. I will have to admire yours until I get my own. I don't have a problem with that, they are amazing!
Well... It has been a few days and I don't have much to show you other then a clean tank with some snails, but I am still going to put up a night shot because I can't get over how clear the water is and how cool it looks at night.
Are your heaters on the entire time? :) I have tried it on my system and with that configuration I am able to keep the tank going for over 3 hours with the moonlights on. That includes an 8.5 watt mj900, a 45 watt hd20 blueline and a 200 watt cl-150 ( which comes on once every 4.5 hours for 10...
I hear ya.. Could not even go to sleep till almost 3am, since it was thundering so loud. Good thing I have a couple of these.

based on the amount of replies are you sure you are going to have enough food? Don't you think everyone should bring something just as if it were a meeting? I can honestly see like 50 people showing up and you are going to be short like 40 hamburgers.. are you sure you don't want us to bring...
