talked to my gearhead. He only knows of Atco. New Egypt does have a circle dirt track but...
I couldn't think of moving into a smaller place than I'm in now. Gives me some chills.
I would avoid a U-tube style overflow. Weir style is nice because it's harder for critters to clog it, plus some allow you to attach an airline to a powerhead to keep suction on the overflow. CPR makes a good one.
The big con is the same as any other overflow. Blockage will/can cause the tank...
Oops, I'll ask my troops tomorrow. He's a gearhead so he might know if there's a track closer than atco.
We're scheduled to move over there in Oct '09, but we not stay that long where we're at. They're having is overpay for a tiny two bedroom for the four of us so if they don't move us then...
I came home today to find my two mouth ricordia not in its cup that I was using to attach it to a rock. I then noticed a string of slime from where my acan fell the night prior but left because it landed soft side up.
So half of the ricordia has melted and I removed some of the slime from it...
You may want to look into the phoenix 14k bulbs if 20k bulbs end up too blue for you. They are bluer than the xm bulb you are currently using, but also give off more par to boot.
When I lived out west one of the lfs that also did maintenance would sell used bulbs for cheap. You might find a...
Tall can be good if you can still get your arms inside once the sump is in the stand. It allows for more water in the sump and/or extra room in case of the main tank drains more than planned.
Dan, not trying to wreck your peace of mind but, a lesson learned from living in hurricane country and out west is to test/maintain your generator at least every 6 months to make sure it works. I had alot of friends who's generators wouldn't work even if they were new in box and just sitting...
There is a couple of ways to do it depending on how your stand is built and the size of the sump. For example, a long but skinny sump could have a door cut into the side of the stand to install the sump.
Another way is to temporarily brace and cut out the front center brace to insert the sump...
I would go with no media with either the emperor or the canister. The empty canister adds water volume and can make water changes easier. By being able to close the valves and dump/refill the canister the tank sees no change. The emperor adds flow and surface agitation coupled with the ability...
