I've got both Kenyas & Cauliflower leathers and still think his pic looks closer to a Kenya. The polyps in his picture are deflated as mladencovic pointed out earlier. My Kenya will look the same but not the Cauliflower when deflated.
jaynduke, have the polyps opened up on it yet? Since it's a...
It's a Kenya Tree without question. A Kenya Tree is a soft leather.
Just out of curiousity did the person at Trop call it any of the names below?
Capnella
Tree Coral
Taro Tree Coral
Nephthya
Nephthea
Nephthea Tree Coral
Cauliflower
Cauliflower Soft Coral
Broccoli
Branch Coral
I've got both in the same tank. Neither nips at any corals.
Generally speaking both of these are usually reef safe with only an occasional bad specimen.

I sure do understand what you mean. Besides it's a whole lot easier when your only adding 20lbs or so to just buy good live sand. When you start needing hundreds of pounds you get more crafty. :)
Hey you better go knock on wood after "talking" about how smooth everything worked on the first...
NapoliNewJersey, Have you setup the Outer Orbit Pro 250 yet or is it something you just ordered?
If it is already setup and working how does it look visually to you color wise with the combination of bulbs in it?
Also what did you have on the tank previously?
Just curious,
Carlo
mynd, don't sweat the fact that it is silicate sand. It really doesn't matter. If you like the look of the sand then go for it.
Actually Silica is a needed trace element. The limewater that many reefers dose to our tanks is 0.2% by weight silica. Even with hundreds of pounds of this sand in my...
I totally agree with what you just said Phyl and did notice he was looking for "color". I just mentioned the 6.5K bulbs because you said you didn't like the color and I had just done it. :)
Back to the point:
I think 14K are an all around good balance and they do bring out the colors in many...
Phyl you would probably really hate what I've been working on in my prop system. 400+ watts of 6.5K based PC light over a 125 with no actinic. I've got a large sunset colony, Croatia clams and bunch of frags thriving and growing like I've never seen before.
I'm finding the more time I spend on...
Works just fine mynd in small tanks.
I'm actually putting some in my "nano" today. Well not really a nano but it seems like it to me at only 44 gallons. I've used it in 5g copepod tanks as well as a few 10 gallon tanks.
It is pretty fine sand compared to the typical "live sand" you would...
Before you start mixing that in you might as well remove the oily surface while it's easy to get to. Try sucking it out with a shopvac or scooping it out with a 20oz cup or something.
Can you rework the skimmer output with some PVC so it will discard directly into the middle chamber? You should...
That's quite a lot of proteins built up there.
Does all flow go to the fuge then center section and then to the section where you skimmer is currently? Is the return pump in the compartment where the skimmer is currently?
If so it would seem you need to move the skimmer over to the middle...
Below highlights swiped from: http://www.aquabotanic.com/lightcompare.htm
Lumen is a measure of flux, or how much light energy a light source emits (per unit time). The lumen measure does not include all the energy the source emits, but just the energy with wavelengths capable of affecting the...
Hehe, I knew my comment: "Because he's looking to upgrade, not downgrade" was going to get me in hot water, but I think it's more of a scientific thing then a person judgement. :)

I PMed him about the full package sale at his asking price but it doesn't seem like he really wants to sell it but making a "backup financial plan" type thing.
