I know you'll probably crack up now, but I didn't catch it until we did the transfer from the 75 to the 180. ::)
And in all my previous attempts, I also knocked over coral, broke off pieces, etc. That fish truly drove me insane. And in case you're wondering what type it was, he was a Kole tang...
Stunning looking fish! I'm envious, seriously. Are you keeping him with corals, if so, how does he behave with them?
.....never mind, I typed before reading and looking thoroughly. I'm having too many "blonde" moments as of lately. :-[
Re: Here's my 120
I looked into the Heniochus for a while, too. Gorgeous fish, but after reading as much as I could about them, I was more reluctant because most people say that even the "reef safe" ones can be a hit or a miss. And I don't want to go through what you just went through, Jim. :P
Oh boy, Jim, I can't believe you had to go through such an ordeal to catch the coral muncher. I remember when I was trying to catch a fish in my 75. I did resort to a super tiny hook, and would have been able to catch every fish in the tank - except the one I wanted. :-X
JR, I have 2 cleaner shrimp. But I only ever see one of them. The other is still rather small, but Alex swears he saw him the other morning, when he was peaking at the tank with a little red light. ::)
Awesome, thanks again, Phyl. So much!
All my lights are now on, and I've fed my fish for the first time today. I know one thing, whoever survives this ich will have to go on a diet when it's all over. Since I'm feeding frequently, they all look rather chubby. :-[
As much as I hate posting...
I was actually just reading and reading and researching about the UV. I'd love to borrow it, Phyl, thank you so much for offering. Does it come with a pump or do I need to get one?
My first set of lights just came on a little while ago, and from what I can see, everyone is accounted for. Temp...
OMG Merv, how long did all that take you? Aren't you exhausted, especially since you're having flu-like symptoms? So sorry to hear about your troubles with HA. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a thing of the past.
Your rockscaping looks fantastic.
They are regular filter socks, kind of catch the "bigger" debris.
Since I have ich in the tank, I only have 2 options. Either try and deal with it, and hope for the best (but I have to make sure I have VERY stable water conditions to not further stress the fish), or pull each and every fish...
Thanks again, Phyl. I'm trying to keep my head up, but I'm literally glued to the tank most of the time, wanting to raise a magic wand.
Yes, I'm doing the temp change very slowly. By this evening the temperature should be at about 77. I don't think I can get it any lower than that, especially...
Thank you all so much for the support.
Phyl, I'm following your advice and will gradually LOWER the temperature. Don't ask me why, but I was under the impression if I raise the temperature the trophonts would detach from the fish quicker. ??? Of course it makes perfect sense that if they fall...
I'm SO sad
I'm updating this with a heavy, heavy heart. I knew I had ich in my 75, as every once in a blue moon my Hippo Tang would sport a few dots. Well, the ich has come back with full force, and has claimed some lives. So far I've lost my Royal Gramma and my Lyretail Anthias - and I hope...
Phenomenal pics, Merv! Now' admit it, you and your girl want a colorful parrot, RIIGTHT? ;D I love lorikeets (minus the mess they make). But boy are they playful. Are your shoes in one piece? LOL.
Sorry, but I'm a HUGE bird person as well.

Terrific pictures, Merv. I'd love so visit that place one day.
I cracked up when you said you wanted to go outside after seeing the swell shark in the egg case for a while. I know I'm a bit claustrophobic, too.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Gosh, your tank looks terrific, JR. Are you loving it? ;D
Sorry, I can't see the "eggs" in the picture.
