I know zero is where it should be. I have a Spring fed well and the water varies, sometimes it' close to 400ppm, today its 110ppm, what my R/O is putting out it's at 9ppm- guess it's time to replace the cartridges- but I wonder when my well water is putting out water with tds this low, whether...
Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy and a Prosperous ( reefing wise, at least ) New Year- I got a new 75g tank- and out with the old- a 30L and a 29 cube for me-sell or trade
I have a soft ball size gsp (thanks to @Salted that I plan to frag and glue to the wall on my 75g. I'm wondering if I should take a knife and slice it up beforehand leaving it on the rock- or just do it when I'm going to glue it
I'm getting ready to switch fish, rock, coral to the new 75g- the ph in my tank is 7.8 or so, my R/O water is neutral 7.0. Should I do something to increase the ph in the new water or should I just drip acclimate the fish, and keep the coral in another tanks until the ph raises naturally
I started a thread about my 'dream tank', but things have changed a bit since then, so I figured I'd start all over. I bought a new 75g a while ago and it sat on a bench for months for a number of reasons- one was trying to figure out how/ what dimensions for building the stand- @reefsandrotts...
Got to relocate south of the Driscoll bridge and start eating pork roll, or to Florida. I like my North Jersey Reefer friends, but you 'southerners' keep giving stuff away- I'm also not looking forward to winter, but I'll keep moving forward. My 40 finally looks like I have the algae under...
I couldn't trade or give away the pink damsel that was harassing the fish in my 40. I'm getting closer to getting the 75 up and running, so I moved it to the 30 today with a Fiji devil and a yellow dotty in it- it's a bit stressed out- already has a nip or two out of it's tail and is swimming on...
I pulled all the rock out of the 13g to remove/ treat for bubble algae and found this on one when I turned it over- one pic is the whole underside- the other is cropped to show 'it'
I noticed some bubble algae on frags the rock in my 13g. I plan to take the rock out, scrape it and treat with peroxide- wondering if i should treat with Vibrant or just keep an eye on the tank- some of the rock/frags came from my 40b- now I'm wondering if it's in there too, but just not visible...
I have 2 Relassy 165w and a Kessil A350w I plan to use on my 75g- the Kessil has it's own gooseneck. My plan is to mount/ hang the 2 Relassy 'sideways' on either side of the Kessil- they are 12" wide/deep- can I just use a 12" shelf bracket with the cables that came with them or is there a...
I'm hoping to get my 75g up and running in the next week- transferring the rock from a 29g and 30g- adding live sand. fish I have now are a fiji devil, a pink damsel (if it survives dealing with the devil) 2 talbot damsels, a yellow ( not yellow at all ) dotty, a yellow tail and sharknose...
I under estimated the amount of acrylic I need for my sump- black is much more expensive. I can get clear at Lowes and it will be in chambers that won't get any/much light. I see that Krylon's Fusion paint is reef safe- wondering if anyone has used it and if it holds up
I'm combining tanks in the next couple of weeks. All are in my tank for over 6 months- firefish, 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 Springer Damsels ( great for a nano or pico) pink damsel- pics on request pickup in Chester 07930 or meet
I'll be moving things around in the next few weeks. I have yellow and green clown gobies in separate tanks, would like to put them in the same one- will there be a problem
Along with the 75g tank and stand I recently got for free ( I gave the tank away today- feels good ) I also got glass tops. the clear ones are split app - 9.5 and 5.5 x 22.5- whatever fits on top of a rimmed tank. The other glass tops are tinted and 8.5 inch x 22.5 - 4 of them. I don't think...
