Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I would be all over it if I did t have existing coris and Leopard wrasses. Likely has a 10 year lifespan and is a beauty. Super rare. Right up my ally.
Yes was mentioned a few posts above. It's not going to be easy to find someone who has kept one as this is only the 2nd time in the last 15 years I have seen them pop up for sale.
The reaction is probably from other things dying in the tank such as microscopic algea, cyano, and dino's. Also possible from an increase in water clarity from the peroxide.
how much peroxide are you using? It’s pretty safe to use if done properly and can be used long term. its basically like ozone. 1ml per 8 gallons is a pretty safe starting dose daily.
Yes, Epsom Salt is 100% reef safe. It's basically magnesium. Just make sure it it's the regular version and not a scented one. Feeding antibiotics is also reef safe if you mix it with focus.
Is it just the one eye? If so the first thing I would do is dose epsom salt directly into the tank. Dose is 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. Repeat the dose a second time after 1 day. If no improvement mix kanaplex and focus into a medicated food and feed for 7 to 10 days.
If you measure ORP after you do a water change with this TM salt will get a substantial drop when it should actually go up. It's probably killing some organism in your tank causing the algea bloom.
Looks like a Green Slimer but it's actually. A. Florida. The true green slimer is A. Yongei and wouldn't have the orange tips. Here is a pic of a slimer.
