    The Soprano's

I, too, believe Christopher will be the first in line for an "unfortunate" demise. Tony is getting VERY paranoyed - perhaps he will even do him in himself? I know it wasn't supposed to be funny - but when the guy who died of cancer was offered a cigarette by his wife JUST as he took his last...

I take that back. It is slushing now - heavily! :o --- Wendy

    danm you rain

Once she is south of I-195 she should be just fine. The rain has let up a bit, but the wind gusts are strong. --- Wendy

    danm you rain

:o I hope everyone who's having water "issues" will be ok. I can't even imagine living in Lodi right now, has anyone seen what those poor folks are going through? If this weather continues there will be geese and ducks swimming in my yard in no time, I'm afraid. :( My dogs haven't gone #2 all...

    The Soprano's

ROFLOL Are you ready for tongight's episode? I fell asleep last week, but Alex told me everything that happened (or didn't for that matter). The first season was by far the best IMHO. --- Wendy

    Vacation?

What's a vacation? :o Going anywhere for any length of time is a thing of the past since we have 2 huge dogs and 2 big parrots, and now a fishtank, too. Since my boys are old enough (18 & 15), we do occasional overnighters, and have even gone to Niagara Falls for 2 nights for our 20th...

I apologize if I've offended anyone here

Candi, I haven't been a member long enough to have ever seen you "bash" your husband, but when I read that your DH (<-- dear husband ;)) doesn't share the same interests, I could relate a little. 3 years ago I got into tarantulas, and acquired quite a collection. Nobody supported it, neither my...

I was hoping eventually my clowns would try to host in one of my corals..

Absolutely adorable! Are you in front of your tank basically 24/7 like I am? ;D It looks AWESOME! --- Wendy

    Here we go

Thank you everyone - very, very much. :) Here comes a big update. The good news are I haven't quenched my thirst with saltwater anymore. ;D (<-- joke) I have "life" in my tank - found a bristleworm in my sump and a little ruby brittle starfish. I also added some cleaners (not nearly enough...

    Here we go

Thank you Phyl and Merv. Phyl, after my initial rock-scaping I suddenly realized that my cleaner magnet wouldn't fit everywhere, so I moved everything around until I could easily reach everywhere. :) Merv, that was scary what happened to your friend. I only wish the ER doctor would have...

    Here we go

Thank you all so much. :) When the ER physican asked me WHY I had consumed the saltwater I was so perplexed and dumb-founded, the only answer I could come up with was: "I was thirsty!" ::) Another thing that made the trip to the hospital quite memorable was the fact that I had collected a water...

    Here we go

I thought it was time for another update. Last Thursday I had somewhat of a scare because I had accidentally ingested some saltwater the day before, and at noon I began feeling ill. It started with an agitated caugh, and the stuff I was hacking up tasted really salty. Additionally my tongue had...

Here we are 3 days into the rock thingy. I rearranged (of course), and ended up adding the sand. My readings on Tuesday were as follows, before doing a partial water change: Salinity: 1.025 Temp.: 79 PH: 8.0 Ammonia: off the chart Nitrite: 0.6 Nitrate: 0.5 I'm running 2 Hydor Koralias...

Got Rock? Here is an update: Went to Medford and picked up about 130 lbs. of rock. It's mostly Premium Fiji, but we also picked up some Pukani and Hawaian Rock. When we got home I scrubbed, dipped, scrubbed and dipped - then handed it to my husband, who placed in the display tank, which we...

    Here we go

John, thanks again. We got it working! ;D Called Aqua Oceans in Toms River to make sure he had a bulkhead left for me, drove down there and back in less than 40 minutes ( :o) and put everything back together. This time we used Flexhose (Spa Flex). WOW it works great. No noise and very smoothly...

    Here we go

John, yes, we used Teflon tape but NOT on the nut of the bulkhead. Was that a mistake? Should we put it on the threaded part of the bulkhead, too, before fastening the nut? Ok, I'll stick with double-threaded bulkhead. Thanks again. --- Wendy

    Here we go

Don't be nervoes. I'm sure we made some mistakes when we put everything together. For one, I'm not entirely sure that my dear husband didn't overtighten the nut in the bulkhead. Initially I thought the drip was forming between the bulkhead and the male adapter (I have double threaded bulkhead)...

Thank you so much, John. Very very kind of you. :) I'll call Aqua Oceans to see if they have one for me. Wish me luck. --- Wendy

Our DIY sump and DIY stand

Yes Jon, there's been another update - but a sad and frustrating one. :( How I curse the plumbing part! --- Wendy

    Here we go

Candi, whenever you do set up a new tank, please feel free to give me a holler and I'll be more than happy to build a stand with you and your little one. ;) We can do it right here at my house, all tools provided. Anyway, I do have an update - and it's a VERY frustrating one. Yesterday morning...
