Aaah, Candi, you're making me blush. Thank you so much.
Hey, I'm in Howell, how far are you from me? Perhaps we could build one for you together one day?

Thanks again, Phyl. It will surely make things easier doing it with the sand in the main tank. I honestly don't know "how" cured (if at all) the rock will be. I'm hoping my nose will be able to tell me. I'm planning on using new toothbrushes to brush off any obvious dead stuff, while dipping the...
Yep - I hear you loud and clear. I'm sure I've driven a few people absolutely nuts by now, and they may even wish they would have never met me. :o

Phyl, thanks for the warning. Actually I have a question about that already if you don't mind. :-[
"If" the plumbing isn't running by Saturday, or the tank isn't filled yet, I was planning on placing the rock in the 32 gallon tub. Should I move it into the display tank once it's up and running...
Candi, thank you so very much. :) I don't mind telling you at all - and you'll be surprised how much we paid: The stand and canopy cost us a total of $270 because we did it all from scratch. See here: http://www.njreefers.org/forums/index.php/topic,2583.0.html

We finally moved the stand, tank and canopy to its final location. :)
I've been busy all morning figuring out this plumbing thing, the whole time crossing my fingers that the Durso would fit into the overflow. It did. Whew!
A couple of days ago I learned my first lesson about leaving a...
Aaaah - what cute pictures!
Is Scooter a Corgie?
Here is one of my babies. This is Max(imus) Aurelius, the 'wanna-be' lapdog. ;D

Thank you all very much. :)
The canopy is now completed, only needs very few touch-ups here and there.
This week my RO/DI unit arrived, I picked up 110lbs of sand (THANK YOU TFJ Pet Center for the GREAT price and for putting up with me ;D), plus the Reef Crystals and some other stuff...
Thank you, Merv. :) Couldn't have done it without you.
I figured I continue to show the progress of my building adventure right here. Why start another thread, right?

Too funny!
(My kids just bought me Sonic the Hedgehog a couple of weeks ago, the only game I know how to play for the old Sonic commode. LOL)

OMG!!!! I LOVE CHRIS DAUGHTRY! I'm a member of his website, and when I was notified he was going to play in Philly, I nearly jumped out of my seat. The tickets were gone before I ever had a chance. :'(

Wendy
Thanks again, Carlo.
I will steer clear of crushed coral. The stuff I'm ordering is called Aragamax and is sugar-sized (0.2-1.2mm). I don't think I'll be going with the "deep" sand bed (over 4") just because my tank isn't that huge to begin with. Don't want to take away too much depth, if that...
I don't know if any of you like(d) Genesis, but my husband LOVES them, so I gave him an early Father's Day Gift/Birthday Present and just bought 2 tickets to go see them play at Giants Stadim September 27th. ;D

Thank you all again. ;D
Hi Jon, I'm SO happy to be here. What a great place!
I know this doesn't fall under DIY sump and stand, but I still wanted to share what I've done this morning.
Overflow when I was starting to modify it:

Thank you both so much. :)
We're pleased with it. The "pop-out" doors didn't work out because the mechanism wasn't strong enough to hold the side doors in place, so we just used hinges there, too. No biggie.

Hi Edwin, :)
The stand has finally dried completely, so today we're planning on putting the doors on. I'll take pictures once it's done. I'm very pleased how it turned out, and I'll gladly offer my help if you would want to build one. ;D
You're talking about the 7/11 going North on Rt.9...
