Dont feel bad I am glad I switched to the calcium reactor that thing is so stable. The tank will bounce back. On the plus side now I have room for more coral.
Thanks Juan just going to ride it out and see how it goes. Hopefully that's what the problem is. But definitely sucks went from cutting stuff back because its grow to fast. To cutting dead coral out.
Over the last month I've had a lot of my SPS corals start dying. I thought it was from switching over to my calcium reactor but that's been dialed in and working perfectly 7.8 dkh consistently. Then I thought it was my phosphates being 0 and nitrates at 10 but they have always been 0. But...
I ran a dc pumps on mine for a little over a year and went back to an ac pump. The dc pumps had an issue keeping a constant water level in the overflow it would drop after a while. Haven't had a problem since going back to a ac pump.
Buy a good gate valve and make sure the emergency stand pipe is a least 6 inches taller then the drain and put the drains in the sump just under the water surface.
It wouldnt hurt to cover some of the tanks 5 gallons a day adds up. You looking at 150 or so gallons of top off water a month. That a lot of RODI water. I have a canopy over my 225 and I only evaporate 1.5 gallons a day.
I liked 2 part my tank did very well on it only reason I switched was because it was getting too expensive. I was really worried about switching over to a calcium reactor I didn't want to upset the tanks stability. The switch went pretty good I have a few big colonies that are not looking so...
Little update on the tank I switch over to a calcium reactor. It took a little while to get use to adjusting it now that I got use to it I really like it.
I have a smart buddie booster pump and it works very well it would take forever to make water before. It has auto shut off and flushes the membrane automatically.
