    Field Mice

I have had good luck with the tin cat/spanker type traps. You catch one and often get a couple more who follow.

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

I added a gate valve to the end of the primary (siphon) drain and I am able to prevent it sucking air (loud S-H-L-U-R-P-P sound). The problem happens when the siphon exceeds the speed of the return pump! I always heard not to do this, but the thread on RC by the notorious BeanAnimal went into...

Qwik Check Festival of Ballooning, Anyone?

Now that I've had a little sleep, I can report that a half dozen balloons never were released, including the fantastic Energizer Bunny, and that Darth Vader never made it out of the airport! An amazing Noah's Ark balloon did the full race, though. And a good time was had by all. Balloons are...

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

A few updates... Incredibly, after 2+ years and temps down to 50F, my cooked live rock has life coming back to it. Not much, just some forams and tube things, but...man! And it still has coralline. The other live rock is "livening-up" too, probably as ammonia levels drop. There's evidence of a...

    Another boring 180G

That's quite a collection you've got. I like "Ricordea Island." You know, if those corals all get large you're going to have to make some decisions about what to keep... :)

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

Turning on the Lights Ah, the big day. I get to see what my conception is going to look like. I brought the light rack out and put it on the tank. Then I clamped the brackets to the side: I used the brackets to align the mounts on the wall, and put them up. Some of those screws are in...

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

Oh wait, disregard thte previous post. YOU mean you run your dedivcated ATO system off the AC-3, scheduling it to come on every 4-6 hours. I thought you meant you used a float switch input into the AC-3 to do your topoff, which would be interesting but more complicated to set up.

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

Thanks Phyl, that's helpful. Do you think you could post your ATO statements from the AC-3, or just a link to where you got them?
