I agree with @diana a for QTs, I keep sponges in my display that I use in my QT when the time comes, siphon water from display and throw in a bottle of Dr tims bacteria for instant cycle... Dont ever put anything back into the display from QT. its a one way trip then to garbage

....

After 3 catastrophic events. I QT everything for at least 3 weeks before it touches my tank
