I had the apex one and didn't like how all the ground wires go to one spot. So I picked up the Avast Marine One. I have a lot of float switches that control different things and plan on adding a couple more float switches so I'll need both of them.

Float switches mounted they wired into my break out box. When the water level goes down the float switch triggers a brs 50 ml dosing pump and that's it. Here is the code I use Fallback OFF Set OFF If ATO CLOSED Then ON If ATO OPEN Then OFF Defer 005:00 Then ON

If you have a break out box you could use the Apex as an ato with some float switches. Been using mine like that for years.

Might be strong enough depending how deep your tank is. I had a Maxima for years under a 4 bulb t5.

Clams filter feed and use zooxanthellae to feed themselves like corals do. Maxima clams like the rocks and Derasa like the sand. Maxima clams need more light then derasa clams do. Clams under 3 inches are a little harder to keep and don't ship well when you're looking to get a clam you want...
