I'd just wash it with salt water until almost clear- I moved a 13g from one room to another and had major problems- cyano, dinos- my new tank- a 75- I did use the sand from the old tank- a 28g, but rinsed it and added it to new live sand and haven't had any issues
I watch the new Magnum PI and there's a tank behind the bar in most episodes, which is great, but it's bleached coral with jus a few fish. I get it, background and it's a set, so not permanent, but it would be nice to see an actual reef tank in a tv show or movie
The midas I had was an African- not sure if they differ in habits- but mine turned brownish after a few months- one thing I did notice is the midas shimmies more when swimming
Mine came skinny, but is eating nicely and has a full belly- hope it keeps up- like much more than the midas. One thing I like about fang blennies, most fish leave them alone
Besides that any decent LFS is over 45 minutes away I like that I'm able to buy mated pairs online and buy fish that the lfs don't carry. I just bought a canary blenny-they don't take to frozen/ flake food but pick at live rock- why stores won't get them- looks much like a midas, but doesn't...
Have you done it- I'm considering it- a pink damsel- the Fiji devil keeps it to one end of the tank- but no fish will go near that end all gravitate to the other end or the middle
Saltwaterfish is having a promo that ends today for free shipping with $99. but they get you with $6.99 extra for fish and a $8.99 box fee, but still good prices- promos freeshipping99
