I thought you had a booster pump Paul. I highly recommend it. Quite possibly the best $100 I ever spent in this hobby. I'm right around 5 gal per hour regardless of temp.

My guess is this is the real reason for the lower price. Prices for everything always comes down when the new and improved item cones out.

What size simmer you looking for? I got a eshopps 120 cone. I had to trim the base a bit to fit the section in my sump. Has no effect on skimming. And the pump takes a couple of chances to startup but ones going skims well. Not looking for much more then a coral trade for it.

Not to throw a wrench in this while thing but you only recently added the t5 to the existing LEDs. Why not give them a little time to come around. I think we play to much with our systems as it is chasing numbers, colors, and all kinds of different things. Just let the corals settle in for a few...

Good point And to add to mine......well is exactly like Paul's. Randy's 2 part. Prestone Heat for calcium, Arm & Hammer cooked for Alk. I use BRS magnesium when needed. For salt I'm using Instant Ocean as well

I have 2 RW4's on my 30G frag tank. They offer more then enough flow for the tank, I imagine that RW8's would do the same for you. the fact that you can position them how you want was one of the deciding factors for me. As far as the MP-10's go the age would concern me. 5 years, and who knows...

I have one of each going for the past 2 years. No problems whatsoever with either one. The maxi has been used as a mix pump, reactor pump, WC pump, and now resides in my sons top off resovior adding Kalk water for the past couple of months.

That's weird on the apex cables. I think one might be make on one end and female on the other.

I did that as well. All you need is the 15' aquabus to connect it. If it's not long enough you can get longer cables on eBay pretty cheap.

I used all ultra flex. In my return I only have a 1 union, 1 tee, and 2 ball valves. The rest is one long run of ultra flex. The stuff is great and can be had very cheap on amazon 1" x 50' Ultra-Flex PVC Pipe This is what I used. Black is actually a bit cheaper. (White)...
