Ummmmmmm forget it. Just saw actually read the title.
If you are going to drill yourself then you would be hard pressed to find it cheaper then hidden reef.
I double checked and I had the right size. Here is a closer pic of one leg
As you can see all I did was cut out the eggcrate. 1 or 2 little spots of glue keeps it in place.
not sure how long. just keep it going till phosphates are down and cycle is clear. Another way would be to give a bleach bath for 24 hrs followed by a acid bath for 24 hrs. Either muriatic acid or vinegar. I did vinegar full strength. Follow each step with a very good rinse. Then just cycle...
I would have let the rock stay in the tank, since you were going dark for so long. Just some WC's and you probably would have taken care of and issues associated with it, if any. Now however you will need to re-cure all of that. How much longer are you planning on staying empty?
No No No don't go out of your way for me. I would hate to be responsible if something happened to the colony. Im sure one day the Regal or Black tang will frag it for you while running form the fin nipping monster in the tank.
Looking great as always Sunny. Agree with Dan on that bee sting. Very nice piece. Please let me know when you cut that, I'd love to get my hands on that.
Not to sound like a broken record but I use IO also. Dose to maintain and all is well. With the reactor in your case and dosers in mine it's just not worth the money to throw at these higher priced salts.
Well I did tank down the 80g frag. But then I got a great deal on the 30 and couldn't pass. So I made a little room. The other tank is my refugium/DSB. 65 gal, with about 4-5" sand bed and a bunch of rubble and macro in it. Also I sometimes find a coral here and there.
Did a little work in the basement today.
Hard plumbed in the salt mix tank and also made space for the newly acquired frag tank. And also built a PVC light stand for the frag tank as well. Still waiting for new bulkheads to come in so I didn't get a chance to drill yet. Hopefully this weekend.
