Mike I have a cheap one you can borrow. I have used t mobile for 4 years now no complaints whatsoever. Before I switched I ordered a trial phone to test the coverage. It seems to be good all the places I usually go.
So quick update. I put in a Kenya tree and a sunny d poly frag. Both dead after 3 days. I used a little bit of GE silicone, supposed to be safe. Also the Kenya tree was covered in air bubbles at one point. Although after it's dead the bubbles are gone. Not sure what caused the death. Did a 80%...
Light is definitely a factor. More likely to have cyano with T5 than LED in my experience. However it does not mean you will definitely get cyano with any type of light. I siphoned out some of the affected sand and it was gone by itself.
It's hard to say. I still dose diy nopox and love it. I had cyano a few months ago but now all disappeared. I syphoned it out and replaced with some new sand. I think in general once the tank is balanced these nuisances will disappear. I ran out of mb7 a while ago so have not been using that...
Start of the build. 1g pickle jar. I figure since it's a challenge let's go small or go home :)
Heater: 8w marina Betta heater. $10
Temp controller: petzilla PDT-1. $17.
Light: par 38 bulb. $15.
If I haven't determined not to be a hoarder anymore I would have kept it. It will be great for a cube tank. And the reefbrite blue LED's really bring out the fluorescence of the corals.
There is also aurora but it's more expensive. And another polish brand I forget. People spending a lot of money on 100% LED solution because of the perceived cost of replacing the bulbs. So not a big market for hybrids.
I splurged and got the ATI hybrid with 4 bulbs. Have used it for 3 years. If I am buying a light again I will buy the same fixture. It's expensive but it's well build and looks great. It should last a very long time. Think about how much the AI's and Radions cost it's a bargain. I venture to say...
