You would have to remove all silicon and residue. Not just the cracked piece. Basically breakdown the entire tank. I agree with the others. Cracked Glass=Upgrade

I had a Bubble Magus nac 3.5. Loved it. It can be had for around $130 during a BRS group buy too, so the price is good as well. I now have a SC-65 which can be had from eBay for around $80. It's a clone of the BM 3.5. Since I got it dialed in its been kicking butt as well
