Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So a little update.
THE BAD: STN on a few of my acros. Not sure what's going on all params seem to be solid and the AEFW's appear to be a thing of the past. I actually lost my red planet and purple nana colonies. They took a hit with the worms then this current event knocked them off. The...
In gonna head over there. Not sure how ill keep them alive but that's another thread. I haven tried raising pods yet. After seeing my wrasses fat all day everyday from hunting I figured I would give it a try. I've seen no decline in pods so I guess I just have plenty to go around.
Earl, what LFS five min from you? If its the one I'm thinking of they keep telling me that they don't carry live or frozen. So please share.
I'm gonna let others give their advice on feeding. I waited almost a year before adding mine and he was a skinny one when I did. I've had him about 2...
That's a absolutely insane price. Not sure where you located but the Hidden Reef in Levittown,Pa carries it at $79.99 for the large bucket. Just call before you go there to make sure they have it available.
So it looks like you are stocked pretty well, but for what it's worth, the distributor for the SC skimmers also uses the 2500 in there nac 7 knockoff and the 1100 in there nac 2.5 knockoff. Both pumps seem to be readily available on eBay from the same person. Guess I'll be picking up a couple as...
Paul, isn't the SWC an atman 2500 also? I though the only difference between the one sold for the BM Nac7 was the impeller.
Also I have seen chatter about an upgrade kit for the SWC 160 also that changes the pump to a sicce. I believe it was in the Reef Filtration threads on R2R.
If you are going to actually build the tank then I would suggest using the RTV. If you are going to use an existing tank and just add baffles then the regular aquarium silicon or the GE 1 will be just fine.
Often chunks mean moisture has gotten to it and that could mean some precipitation. Personally I would toss it. Or if you use it just check your lvls to make sure things are in line after you mix it.
Nothing much at the moment. Have a few pieces STN at the moment. All acros and lost a bit of color too. Can't get to the bottom of it though. Though I suspect calcium and Alk are off due to the dosers pulling air. Gonna do some tests tonight or tomorrow so stay tuned. To be honest the I feel...
Check out my build. The first few pages are the stand I built following the about design. I skinned it with 1/4" oak ply and also hid the tank frame somewhat with the molding.
Much appreciated guys. Whatever I can do to help out. That's part of the reason we are all on the boards. To meet people and help out whenever possible. I just try to do what I can. Thanks again both of you. If there is anything I can do in the future don't hesitate to ask.
I'd be interested in you mag number as well. I had the same problem as Xavier. When I tested mag I realized it was about 1100. Once I brought it up the calcium came down. As I understand it, it's mag that allows us to keep the elevated cal and Alk where we want them.
