I have found it best with mandarins if you can get them to eat cyclopeeze or however you spell it. They rarely eat much frozen. I have had good results with the freeze dried and frozen cyclops. I keep 3 mandarins 1 mated pair and a moyers
W is wireless and has just the standard modes, reefcrest etc. The WES models have ecosmart modes as well as all the standard modes, so they are different. You can upgrade the old controllers if you really need to as well.
If you can change tge plug I would not even bother with using a locking plug and cord set. L stands for locking and unless you are that worried about it being unplugged don't spend the extra money.
You will need a L5-30R to plug that in. The PCS20-30L? That strip is a 30A max. So a couple of choices here....you could feed it with a 20 or 15 amp breaker or 30 if you really need it. Wire sizes are as someone else posted earlier. Deal is though, you could keep the existing wiring and breaker...
Pay attention to which one you buy. I know they do have lots of different models, I deal with these a lot when I design IT rooms. The plug you linked I do not think is the correct one, the locking receptacles are for the higher voltages in most cases which would be 230V with these PDU's. It is...
I feel your pain with the phosphates. For what it is worth I had to run GFO before I started my pellets. I ran GFO for ~6 months before starting my pellets. I had a nasty hair and cyano problem all due to Sandy. My phosphates and nitrates were very high though. I rarely see any cyano but my...
Rule of thumb is 250ml per 50 gallons. I don't think you will have a problem with 1000ml, you have a decent load in your tank. Just keep an eye on your numbers, there would be nothing worse than stripping your water clean.
I wouldn't starve the tank of light, but turning your power heads up could help as long as your not blowing sand all over the place. Keep an eye on your corals and see how they react.
What pellets are you using by the way?
This is the standard Urchin In-Sump model with drain, tube, clamp and pipe cleaner for the nozzle. No pump included but requires a MJ1200. Looking for $100 obo. I am located in 07062.
Sounds like it might be a bloom. Did you dump more pellets in yet or still at the same as the last time I talked to you? If it is the bloom from the pellets your skimmer will probably be spewing more than normal. It should go away within a week.
I like it...from what I know the fixtures you have are 0-10v dc so easily contollable vis apex. you will have to do a little diy wiring but nothing major.
I have had a reef tank for 25 years now and got an apex in the last year....I still do not know how I made it this long without one. having...
They say they are doing 8,000 gpm at startup and levels out to 5,000 gpm. That is just a crap load of water. I would be interested to see how many pumps they have in the pump house. I actually am doing work with the group that designed the renovation of Longwood Gardens.
I would wait a week or 2 before I add them. I know you just added a couple new things and had that problem with the chalice. Your phosphate did drop though, no?
Been 3 weeks now, and I have not had to clean the glass....or acrylic in my case. Since the biopellets kicked in the film buildup has been minimal and the snails have more then kept pace keeping it clean. the coralline seems to have sprouted quickly on the sides near the back and on the back though.
