Before Sandy hit I had no ich in my tank as far as I knew. My clowns were over 15 years old and never had visible spots, so that is not to say I did not have ich in the DT. I also had a purple tang and a flame angel. I have never run UV.
So now fast forward to after sandy and I have all kinds...
Not a whole lot new to update. I put one new pic up in my album of the most recent addition. Apparently I am not allowed to post img links or it contains something offensive.
I have since bought more lights. I am still trying to get the right balance of blue. I installed a 36" deep blue...
Been so busy lately and haven't had much time to do anything. I did however buy a Neptune Apex. Setup took me a day and I am still fiddling. Extremely addicting it is to tweak. The biggest pain was to get my acan light the vdm and moonlight intensity to work correctly. The first day after I set...
As much as I hate using the Coralife gloves, I use them when in my tank. There are occasions when you need to get a better feeling though, and in that case I try to use a plastic bag. I have skunk cleaners that think my arm hairs are a parasite...so guess what they do when I don't protect my...
I am using Acan/eco-Lamps Series 800.
My tank is 48" long with a 36" long fixture. I never realized the amount of heat my halides dumped into my room until I put this fixture up.
Using (2) MP10s ...when I bought them 1 was DOA which they replaced immediately. Pumps have been good to me for a year now. I have actually found their sweet spot where I can put them on full flow and not even hear them.
It is usually not advisable to use straight tap water as your local water company will treat water differently depending on conditions and or maintenance schedules. Even for fish I would not risk using tap water even if I used a dechlorinator.
I normally head to Ocean Gallery II
When I am in the area, I go to Tropaquarium
This weekend I went to Elos Aquastudio, that has to be one of my new favorite places
Yesterday I had 2 turbos go belly up. Not sure how they got retarded, but I watched my skunk cleaners go to town on one of them just picking at it's exposed bottom. I was actaully amused watching this.
I did turn them back over and the one that was molested has not moved....don't think he is...
Just my 2 cents, but you should always be plugged into a GFI receptacle and have a ground probe installed for your own safety and at a bare minimum a GFI receptacle. Water and electricity are just a bad combination.
Glad your ok though.
I have used Live Aquaria, Blue Zoo Aquatics, Aquatic Connection and Reefs 2 Go. Never had a problem with any one of them and if anything did not make it they have all always credited.
Live Aquaria probably has the best selection I have seen and I have never recieved a coral with a pest on it...
The info on that driver is something to be desired at best. The 80-130V is more than likely the input voltage. The mA doesn't matter at this point really but that driver is probably a 60 Watt max. What you need to know is what the led voltages are and are usually 12 or 24 volts, but the voltage...
