I need to replace my four of my 250watt HQI mh bulbs. They are about 18months old. That is too old, right?
I am currently running 12,000k I think. Maybe they are 15,000. not sure til I take them out. But what brand should I buy, does it really matter? Any ideas will be utilized. THANKS ;D
Mike,
I set my white balance to some white in your tank. I think sand. Then the macro setting was my next step. Keep steady by leaning on the tank. Press halfway, making sure it focuses on what you want. I use the eyepiece to see thru, then follow thru with the shutter, make sure you dont move...
Re: what eats Manjos
Hey David, I will get you a 10 inch long needle. They are spinal needles. The next time we open a sterile pack, I will get one, they usually have two and we end up throwing one out. Unless we miss! You will get those mojamos!
Re: what eats Manjos
sure, ed. i work a bunch of weekends, and i can come there right from work. where do you live? i work next weekend, not this weekend.
I have a clown that is 12. her mate died 3 years ago. i got them when they were tiny babies. she is with the carpet anemone in the tiny tank in my family room. every fish i add to the lonly one is missing the next day. the carpet is as old as my son Matthew. He is 13 years old. Did everyone know...
no, david. i dont usually crop. mine are straight from the camera to photobucket.
here's what i do.
1. make sure the glass is clean
2. set my white balance to a white item in the tank. you can even put a white paper plate in for a minute. it is very important to get a real understanding of the...
Re: what eats Manjos
I don't actually feed them with superglue, I inject them with super glue. I have syringes and needles from sets that were expired or discarded unused, from work. I will get you a couple. The glue clogs the hole that the critter lives in as well.
Mike,
I don't understand why you are going thru all of this trouble. Why not just use the OSCILLATE mode.
Here's mine.
OSC 10/50 ON/OFF Then KAL ON
OSC 50/10 ON/OFF Then ATO OFF
This alternates KALK pump mixing 10 Min, and ATO lifter pumps pumping 50 minutes. Since 3 inches or more of the...

Whats going on in your photo could be Slow Tissue Necrosis secondary to poor circulation compounded by poor lighting in those two spots. Watch if it spreads. I just...
WHAT A CRACKUP! I thought Phil really had a shirt like that! Phil and Steve, those shots are so FUN!!
I am laying in bed trying to sleep after night shift, in all of this sunny daylight, cracking up laughing all alone!
I use this treatment from Reef Central for Zoanthids. I even hang a printed copy on the wall in the basement with other treatments I cannot memorize, with this OLD BRAIN of mine. If there are encrusted SPS or LPS with the zoos, remove that first or death will be imminent. Mushrooms and Rics fare...
Oh yea, to answer your question, it is unknown as to if the acro crab eats red bugs, some say yes some say no. I have no acro crabs, since I can never remove them manually, and also since every stony coral in my house gets treated with
1. Interceptor (red bugs)
2. Fluke Tabs (AEFW)
3. Flat...
AEFW is scary. Look for circular bite marks. If you have red bugs, they will affect the A. valida and the A. nana first. The slimy variety of acros seem to be most immune. AEFW are invisible to the naked eye unless the coral is out of the water. The worm stays shiny while the coral starts...
I have, no lie, 12 digital cameras. I have had them since they first came out. I bought the first NIKON digital SLR that was built for consumers, the D100. The body cost me 2,000 at B&H photo NY. But for a point and shoot, I always look for a few things important to me. THe lens, a Carl...
I cant figure out why this BTA keeps moving around. He wont stay in one place, i had to shut the power heads off. Last night he was on my seio powerhead. I guess he didnt like the koralia. How should i run the power heads and still protect him. I tried foam, but it clogs too fast.
