my peps only come out at night, i never see them.... literally have gone several months with no shows, then i'll be moving something in the tank, and out comes the pep to scare the hell out of me till i realize what it is
hey, we all love salt water..... lets see how charitable the njrc can be... i know half of us are nuts anyway... i'm in, who's going with me? and if any of us get ick from the cold water temps, i hear cleaner wrasses, garlic, and feather dusters are sure fire c-c-c-cures (sorry, started...
the main difference between the different size overflows is not only the physical dimension, but also the size drain that goes to the sump. some have a larger line for the bigger sizes, some have 2 smaller lines
i would rather have my tank drilled, but if the tank is already established, then an overflow would be my second choice. for the simple reason of having one less component
me and a friend just sprinted right in, it was all kinda a blur, but a friend is pressuring to do it again, and it is for charity, so if anyone else goes maybe i'll see you there...
put the pump on the ground, use a tee with a plug on it to bridge over the rim of the tank, then to prime couldn't you remove the plug and manually fill with water, and put the plug back in?
the brand wouldn't determine the teperature it ran at, the combination of equipment would, i think it was calaxa thar recommended running the return pump externally, a hot pump in the sump would act as a heater
hmmm, i feed rods 4 to 5 times a week, i've been having BAD algae problems, i don't have a huge amount of filtration.... coincidence? i think NOT!!!!! son of a b*%#h!!!!
Re: Here's my 120
i think as long as the chiller is mixing with any water in the system it is accomplishing it's purpose, wouldn't it all equal out in the end cause it's lowering the temp of the system as a whole?
great think about a 40 breeder is that it has only 12" less on the length worth of floor space less that a 75g... 36"x18" is kinda an optimal size for a not "very big" tank,
i read a quote in someones profile from another forum it made me laugh, went something like this "i like to put extreme amounts of electicity and large volume of saltwater near eachother" i guess we're all a bit nutty
